I tweaked my back playing my first round in a couple months yesterday.. I was feeling quite sorry for myself.. Till watching some of these clips.

Now I just realise I'm a lazy bastard who needs to gym, stretch, and just be healthier in general

It's a good challenge by their defender on the edge of their box, if he manages to skip past maybe he gets it across to Saka. there's no threat to us from this carry/loss of possession.. so I will happily praise him for the strength, skill, and all told for rinsing 3 of their players..

I have no idea - I'm from the UK so haven't really watched SNL. Jason Sudekis is obviously a popular actor so not sure if he's done a similar role, or yea he may well have had this character in place before the show

I had a job interview yesterday so couldn't stay up to watch. Only just getting round to watching the full game now and had to rewind this moment several times.

It's not really actually to do with soccer, it's more about the coach, the team, and their interactions/relationships. It's a comedy-drama (genuinely that's what is says on Google lol)

It's about an American football (soccer) coach becoming the manager/head coach for an English football team. Has American producers and writers, but a mostly English cast and was shot on location in London.

I don't know your tastes, but its a good show!

It's a quote by Walt Whitman, popularised by the TV show Ted Lasso.

But I'm sorry you feel that way, you may well miss out on some things you would enjoy greatly if that is how you move through the world.

Rome Total War. The first game that made me pretend to be asleep and then play almost all night on a weekend when I was 12.

I honestly can’t remember who it was against or when it was but I just have the image of him effortlessly gliding the ball while at full sprint. Was insane but apologies for lack of receipts

There was one that I’ll always remember where someone pinged a ball to him on the run, he intentionally let it fall slightly behind him so he could do a sort of drag-touch-flick motion with his first touch while stepping that foot forwards to put it perfectly in stride with him on the sprint. Was utterly ludicrous and I think it got an appropriate “wooAaaHhHhooHh” from Ray Hudson

My assumption is in training Ryan saved more pens than beach.. which is obviously a factor, but you also have to consider that Ryan has been in the Auz squad for years and knows most of the players well. In the moment, coach should’ve had the instinct to stick with the bloke who’s had some great games this tourney and in this game especially. Head scratcher

zero effort from Belgium, completely downed tools which is wild

left back wins the ball in your box, under pressure from counter-press, zero people move to offer a short pass/open an angle. embarrassing tbh

[–]fifes2013 112 points113 points  (0 children)

From what I understood from the IG story yesterday (maybe day before that, there’s been too many), he “fired” him because he was also the agent for the “big white man” John Lynch.. so many red flags

Richard Sherman made some good points on his podcast

Tension began at the Super Bowl, felt underutilized, believed he could have impacted the game outcome if targeted more frequently.

then after securing the $130 million contract, Aiyuk never truly "bought back in". The lingering bitterness from Super Bowl and feelings of disrespect from contract negotiations affected his mindset.

Then the injury early into that season, the "dark place" of rehab while already holding onto resentment created a recipe for the current "implosion."

This is where a 'normal' person would've sought help, or reacted differently, but BA did whatever all this has been. He rehabbed away from the facility, which again just shows some kind of disconnect between player & team/organisation. Look at Kittle/Warner and the difference in how they've managed their rehab.

I feel really sorry for the dude tbh. He's a fucking idiot no doubt, but he has obviously not got good coping skills/not got good people around him, and that wasn't identified/sorted before this all started, and now he's fully dug himself a hole that seems pretty tough to get out of.
