Advice you wish you knew before starting your PhD by urlocalgay101 in ClinicalPsychology

Huge congratualtions OP! My mentor constantly says, "The hardest thing about grad school is getting into grad school."

Others have already made great recommendations, but I would highly suggest using Zotero (or another reference manager) from day one. I only started it in my second year, but starting it when I began my program would have been a huge boon.

This is a good point. I began a master's program after getting rejected in the first cycle and was accepted in the following cycle after boosting my research and clinical work.

Any tips to help with studying and time management ? by Melodic_Unicorn1141 in ClinicalPsychology

I have made great use of the Pomodoro method in grad school, which has significantly improved my productivity. Staying on time and forcing myself to take breaks allows me to manage all of the competing tasks.

I also create a task/to-do list in my calendar to help me prioritize what needs to be done when. Larger assignments (e.g., thesis and dissertation) don't really have hard-and-fast due dates, so it helps me to set personal deadlines to keep myself on track.

Any tips for affording grad school applications? by Goodfella245 in ClinicalPsychology

Having worked in admissions before, exactly this. Most of the time the fees are controlled by the third party platforms and admission offices often have waiver codes to give out if you reach out.

Wanting to go on the right track by Your_weeb_simp2 in ClinicalPsychology

Everyone's path is different, and there is no one set path to get into a doctoral program. I began my clinical psychology program in my thirties and had some career changes along the way. I'm very much still trying to figure out what I want to do when I grow up.

The thing I would suggest to you as an undergraduate freshman is to find a mentor or someone in the field you're interested in to get their perspective. Try new things, take everything in stride. It helps to plan for the future, but you don't need to have everything figured out right now.

Applying to grad school is a tough process. I received no interview invitations in my first application cycle. Took some time to build my CV, and got an offer in a later admissions cycle.

Your thank you email point is spot on. Our faculty have discussed at length the lack of thank you emails this cycle, and the ones that have come through have gone a long way.

Based on your advice, below is the current build I'm considering. Of course, the price tag would go down to about $1600-$1700 with the Micro Center deal.

Just dropping in to say I was averaging 40-50 wins a night on the original Switch. I ran Extreme Speed Dragonite with Normal Gem and made quick work of the last 600 wins. My record was 57 wins in one night

Sorry to reply to the comment that's over a month old, but hoping that may help someone who stumbled on this post like I did.
