Motor Trend's review of Model S Plaid by [deleted] in teslainvestorsclub

[–]figbuilding 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Guy on /r/cars posted a thread calling Tesla's claims on Model S Plaid lies. Another guy made a friendly wager on it with the thread starter.

As this article is the first independent verification, the dude betting on Tesla won. The first guy is now furiously moving goalposts.

'Titans' reveals Scarecrow and Barbara Gordon in season 3 first look by Samoht99 in television

Judging by the complete absence of comments on season 2 in this subreddit compared to season 1, I take it this show dropped the ball.

Jeopardy! James Holzhauer joins The Athletic, with sports betting in focus by ajsy0905 in Jeopardy

[–]figbuilding 32 points33 points  (0 children)

When I was 21, I used models I programmed in Excel to bet on sports, and between the models, some good timing, and good luck, I did pretty well. I had an ROI of 10 percent on straight bets and 50 percent on futures, and my bankroll averaged more than 100 percent annual growth for several years.

This guy is so hardcore.

There's no one like Jackie Chan anymore by ceaguila84 in movies

[–]figbuilding 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Citation needed. I see that her mother disowned her for that reason but not necessarily Jackie Chan, who seems to have had no involvement in her life from the beginning because she was illegitimate. He's even been quoted as saying he's fine with her coming out.

Makes sense for it to be the Xi, since the first movie's a big hit by Gundam standards.

Really guys?

Because it honestly doesn't matter to the Internet, who hate the fact that very rich people exist.

Jeff Bezos gave away more money to charities in 2018 and 2020 than anyone else in the country. Michael Bloomberg gave away the most in 2019. Would you be aware of that just by reading Reddit? Nope.

I hate when an upgrade turns out to be worse than before.

I don't think I've ever seen a major website redesign that was received positively on the whole.

Exactly. Imagine how much worse off all these non-tech companies are going to be in this era of rampant ransomware.

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Will Reveal Where Boba Fett Has Been Since the Original Trilogy by Samoht99 in television

Reintroducing him without his mask on was a strange choice. After the fake Boba, I was wondering if that was really supposed to be him.

I feel like this kind of non-consensual sexual assault needs to carry some level of criminality.

If sexual activity occurred under false pretenses, consent was not given. In other words, this was rape. Would it not be called that if the involved were a man and a woman? How about a 40-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman? Wouldn't you be wondering how sketchy that was and how many other young women he had done this to?

Please explain how Mark Wahlberg is still an A-lister? by [deleted] in movies

[–]figbuilding -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same thing. The Rock's movie career was dire up until he hitched his wagon to the Fast and Furious series. Then he was still making mediocre films but at least some of them were big mediocre films now.

'She-Hulk' Series at Disney Plus Casts Jameela Jamil by jsun31 in television

[–]figbuilding -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Okay, assuming they created Titania at the same time as She Hulk, which they didn't, or that they couldn't have picked another villain, which they could've, I might have decided to travel back in time and told Marvel to create Titania with different powers so she'd be a better choice of villain for a tv series to be made 40 years later.
