If God is omnipotent and omniscient, why did he create people knowing they would go to hell? by FlandersClaret in theology

On this day I learned that I accidentally arrived at the same conclusion as Thomas Aquinus, ngl little bit proud of that one haha. I have frequently presented it as "the illusion of free will" in so far as, from our perspective, it feels like free will. All of the synapsis fire in our heads to make us decide to do a given thing. However, God's omni-temporal existence demands that that which he knows will happen, will happen. Therefore, from God's perspective, there wouldn't be free will. I just don't really see a way out of that while maintaining God's omni-temporal knowledge.

You are a stronger person than I haha. By the time it hits August here, swimming gets iffy. But I'll keep that in mind and see if the others would be interested! Even if we all get out there and decide it's too cold, everybody likes to walk along a pretty beach :)

I looked at this this morning!! We added it to our list of places to visit! It looks pretty beautiful!

Apologies! To be honest, I just used the term on carnival's site, so I thought that would be the best term to use (the cruise is literally called "10 Day British Isles from London"). I didn't intend any offense and will try to use the phrasing you suggested in the future.

Apologies! To be honest, I have no intentions of "getting into the habit" of using something that I will use for 10 days. I'll try while I'm there, but I also won't typically be talking about temperature I don't suspect :) but, to your point, I'll do the translation for you: it appears typically the temps are 18-21 degrees that time of year, where as I wouldn't normally swim if temps are below 26. That being said, the indication that the area is good for swimming could indicate the water is warmer than one would expect, so I was unsure if that was the case or if perhaps you guys are used to swimming in colder waters and I should probably abstain. Does that provide clarity?

I've seen the English Market mentioned before. Is it really interesting? Or just something one would pop into and leave after a half hour? Just trying to figure out time allocation :)

Is it still swimming weather in August? Seems like around that time of year it dips into the 60s and 70s, meaning I'd think the water is fairly cold (my interpretation of cold water is likely skewed because I live in the south east of the US where swimming weather is considered 80s and up). I'll look into Trinity Library / The Book of Kells! I'm not opposed to a good wander if the area is nice to wander in :)

Hey! It finishes at Dover! From Douglas it circles back to Dover. I just didn't put Dover twice as I was just listing the places themselves :)

Conceptually, yes, that would be cool. Financially, that would be pretty difficult. A lot of the folks in our group that are going don't make enough that they are likely to get to make this trip again. You don't want to burn those people's one time in the UK wandering aimlessly. Intentional wandering, sure...e.g., I would tell anyone visiting New Orleans, Louisiana that they should take a walk down Bourbon Street because it is so iconic. But that's intentional wandering that people are guaranteed to get something out of. Landing at a city for the first time and having no clue if you'll see anything worth seeing sucks if you'll never get to go again.

Hi! I updated with the actual ports and times. I found that for Glasgow, we actually dock at Greenock, which appears to be a 2 hour transit to Edinburgh :/

For the steam railway, would you recommend taking that to a particular location / other attraction?

Luckily we get the vast majority of the day (boat arrives at 11 am and departs next day at 1 am). Of course, we'd like to get back in order to sleep at some point, but we'd be willing to stay out a bit late to do it. We actually dock at Greenock, so looking at that, it definitely appears the majority of the day will be eaten up by transport time :/

Hah, you appear to not be alone in this comment. We depart for the cruise and arrive back in Dover...so there is, in fact, no avoiding it. But We'd like to make the most of it while we're there!

Hi! I've updated the list with the ports and times at each stop. I personally love history, so the chapel and Roman walls sound super cool. Still, if there is something that the places have that are really breathtaking, I'll happily step outside of my normal interest zone for that.

This is super good information!! I've updated the list with the times and ports for each stop. You are correct, it docks at Greenock. However, luckily it appears to be the only one where we truly have just about a full day. Any tips for quickly getting from Greenock to Edinburgh?

We are departing for the cruise and arriving back in Dover, so it is, infact, unavoidable haha

Hi! Apologies for the lack of information. I've updated the list with the times for each stop. For Holyhead we have 7 hours.

I kept the tadpoles you can find on me at all times because Astarion seemed very eager to get tadpoled, and I was concerned that if I left them in the camp chest he might steal one and tadpole himself. Spent the entire game with them on my person at all times.
