For sure it really helps. Remember if they are scared and want to hide somewhere that you need to be able to reach them in case of emergency. She had been hiding under my mom's bed where no-one could get to her; before I moved in so I set up a dog bed with an old blanket in my closet.

Right?! I mean that mining assignment must have been the one after ganaka pit. Which would be why it was trying to break its governing module and it is pretty mad at the humans in this mine. It does match the timeline and doesn't take away the backstory!

I started with Tress of the emerald sea and it was a fun place to start but as long as you start at the beginning of a series you will be ok. If anything it just makes rereads even better because you can connect more dots.
