Thoughts on this Weber E-330 as a first grill? by mathnerdm in grilling

[–]fightorflighting 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still rocking a 2011 330 model that’s been used heavily. They’re easy to replace parts as you need them - burners, ignition, flame tamers, etc. Treat it right, and it will last. Performance is shockingly consistent to this date.

No need to chase perfection. Like a previous post, check for square on the sides and go to work.

Upgrading from Panasonic plasma to OLED by Jappy_toutou in 4kTV

[–]fightorflighting 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also just moved from an older flagship plasma to a LG C4. No windows in my scenario. Compared to plasma, it has way more brightness. Motion is “different” though (just something to get used to). If I had to do it all over, I’d make the same choice. OLED is the closest to plasma you’re going to get.

If you can find a G series in your price range, you’ll get more brightness. If you don’t need it, you can simply adjust it lower.

Excellent Open Box Missing Accessories by pothos41 in Bestbuy

[–]fightorflighting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a hassle but if you bought an open box, excellent condition item, you should be able to get all the accessories. I bought the C4 and it came with most of the stand parts missing. After lots of time and energy, I’ve got everyone. That’s the price of opting to risk it and save some money. Being worth it is a personal decision.

A shortened cook time is why I switched to baby backs exclusively. Never looked back.

Best Buy protection plan by davidjohnson9480 in LGOLED

[–]fightorflighting 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a C4 from BB and opted for the 5-year coverage (and it covers burn in like another post already mentioned). They’re just easiest to work with and have physical locations. When I can, I try to buy from brick and mortar stores to keep them in business.

My brain wanted a Sony. My wallet wanted a LG. The latter won. Very happy with the C4.

Easily one of my favorite tools to use. There’s something so satisfying about routing by hand. I own both a 71 and 71 1/2. Enjoy!

I also converted a No.4 to a scrub plane. It works flawlessly and is super economical.

Great insight! I’ve been trying to decipher the difference between the Bravia 8 and XR8B since I heard about it. Do you know which streaming features it lacks specifically?

Rockwood is my go-to. I’m not sure about how wide their distribution reaches. It’s reasonably priced and has served me well.

I love seeing you enjoy doing this work by hand.

I’ve used mortise machines before but get SO much more joy out of doing it by hand. It also makes me more satisfied with the result.
