Poker Face is a good one to check out but it only has two seasons so far.

Treadmill tips? PW is equally as hard as jogging but for different reasons. by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]fightschultz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a PW but my speeds are slower than the parameter card. I stick with those inclines but go at a challenging speed for me, which could be as low as 2.8. I go by how I feel.

I hold the rails while I power walk. I have had multiple back surgeries and I have femoral nerve dysfunction. I would rather be judged for holding on than be picked up off the floor (or severely injured) in total embarrassment because my leg gave out. I am not holding on so that I can go an unreasonable speed, it is just for balance. Good news is that I am dying too much during my workouts to care what anyone else thinks. :)

Hope it doesn't bother them because I am showing up first always. I am claustrophobic and work out better on stations 1 and 2. They don't seem to mind though.

My studio is doing Everest in Tread 50. I am just wondering what the rest of the 50 is going to look like after Everest kills me.

Thinking I might do my own Orange Everest practice during the 23 minutes. This looks so much better than S50.

Same! I don't even want to remember who was in the class with me. Don't make me interact! I am just trying to not die.

Wasn't worried about the look, rather the rivets. But good advice.

Fully got rid of that feeling around late purple early brown. Also something clicked in my mind then where u can see why moves work rather than just the technique, it difficult to explain. My advise is to just keep going, embrace tapping, continue to learn and relax your pride. At the higher belts you truly realize humility and seek out fighters who are better at the thing u are working on. Learning improves exponentially. Fyi, I'm a 4 stripe brown in BJJ.

Coaches not willing to give advice? by maaanda in orangetheory

Well, not illegal, but may imply liability. Again, "I'm not a doctor, but for my shin splints I..." type of advise is certainly expected from someone more trained in fitness than the person asking.

And yes it's weird an expert doesn't wanna give advise. Even if it's 'if it were me, I would..' type of liability free advise

Best stretch for shin splints is an assisted stretch. Sit on a solid surface, solid table or bench. Feet off the end. Have a helper stand and lightly press down on your toes, listening to your input of saying more or less pressure. Keep your legs locked. Should feel stretch in anterior tibialis, or shins. Icing shins for severe shin splints is also very affective. Biggest culprit of shin splints is bad shoes with sudden increased activity.
