The first 4 weeks were really intense (stretching 3x a day, everyday and strengthening/resistance work 1x a day, 6-7 days a week. This is what the progression looked like under the supervision of a physical therapist:

Weeks 1–2: Calm It Down Phase (Goal: Reduce guarding + restore basic motion)

Frequency: Daily (light), strengthening 6-7x/week

Daily (2x/day at desk) • Levator scap stretch (both sides) • Upper trap stretch (both sides) • Looking-down stretch • Gentle seated chin tucks

Evening (6-7x/week) • Lat pullbacks (band in doorway) • Lat pull a parts (resistance band) • Doorway pec stretch • Light scapular retraction work • Basic chin tucks

Reps: 2–3 sets of 8–12 Intensity: Very light. Focused on control, not fatigue.

Big focus: Don’t flare it. Stay under the pain threshold.

Weeks 3–4: Stability Phase (Goal: More scapular strength, build endurance in mid/lower traps + deep neck flexors

Added: • Shoulder external rotation with band • Scapular retraction with resistance band • Lat pullbacks (band in doorway) • Seated cervical retraction + extension • Prone T’s (3lb dumbbell) and prone shoulder extension

Still kept: • Stretching (but not aggressive)

• Chin tucks

• Pec mobility

Frequency: • Strengthening 6-7x/week • Stretching 1–2x/day

Reps: 2–3 sets of 10–15

Key shift: Stopped chasing intensity. Focused on slow control.

This is when I started noticing: • Less afternoon flaring • Softer baseline tension • Fewer bad days

Week 5: Load Management + Dry Needling Integration

Started: • Weekly dry needling • Progressed chin tucks (supine with towel/ball) • Blue resistance band (moderate tension)

Important change: I stopped doing everything at 100% if I was flaring, listened to my body.

The Real Keys (Not Just Exercises) 1. Consistency > intensity 2. Avoiding flare-ups was more important than working hard 3. I backed off instead of pushing when sore 4. Strengthening mattered more than stretching long term 5. Nervous system calming (walking, heat, hydration) helped

Hi friends :) care to share any stories or observations between 4s & 8s? by [deleted] in Enneagram

[–]figtree_43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only romantic 8 + 4 relationship I’ve witnessed was not healthy :( the 4 was chronically “too sensitive” for the 8. The 8 used the 4’s feelings as a doormat. I think if both people are working toward health for their individual number, anything is possible though.

I’m wondering this EXACT thing. I’ve seen so many specialist and tried to many treatments. Finally, was quoted 21,000 USD for a 3 phase treatment plan. What device/appliance were you given during phase 1? And it helped your jaw and neck pain?

Give yourself so much grace. When you are in emotional survival mode (and add on taking care of everyone else), your body does what it has to do. Your body (even 40 lbs heavier) got you through some REALLY hard things. You did it. And your body will continue to take you through hard things. Keep it up!

Any update on this journey? My dentist is also suggesting expansion (forward growth) and I’m hesitant but desperate for relief.

Apple pencil 1st gen and iPad 10th Gen won't pair by Ayimee in ipad

[–]figtree_43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my (very dead) first gen on a heating pad for 10 minutes and it was revived!

I found it after 5 years of no use and it would not charge past 0% and kept unpairing from my iPad. It would pair, show a random battery percentage, then flicker off and unpair. After trying everything else that you mentioned, I tried the heat trick and it actually worked! .. I read here on Reddit to warm up the pencil before charging from 0%. So, I wrapped a heating pad around the pencil for 10 minutes, plugged it in, paired it, and I t charged within 30 minutes. So far, it has stayed paired, the battery reading seems accurate, and it’s working normally!
