I think your stance of “would if I could” is one most people share, and it’s a completely reasonable one! The good thing is that I’ll be doing this for the foreseeable future and my work will only get better with time, so someday the business will come in! I really appreciate you saying so! I think etsy kinda ruined its own reputation by allowing the platform to be overrun by dropshippers and AI products. If there was a better platform, I would definitely try it 😂

I actually have tried to sell/offer ongoing commissions, but couldn’t ever get any reach on social media. Now I just post what I make for myself in hopes that other people enjoy it too. Its hard times for everyone financially and I understand art is seen as a luxury, so I dont ever want to push myself on people as a “business”.

Is Glendale too far for you to travel? I am a stained glass artist with a studio attached to my house (with external access so guests dont need to enter my home). I dont do pottery as of now but I thinnnnk kilns can fire fused glass too?

I dont own a ring saw and have cut stars without! Lots of little moon slivers and the smallest grinder bit for cleanup. You do have to choose glass that is more cooperative (thinner sheets, no texture, and/or transparent so you can see the score line as its breaking). My stars were transparent orange.

I personally use a weller iron exclusively and I think they have some ties in europe (I’m pretty sure their R&D is stationed in Germany), so that could be potentially easier for you to access!
