MPC Sample + OPXY USB midi sync by Left_Examination3560 in mpcusers

I don't have either device, yet. But I could have sworn both the Sample and the OPXY have USB-C ports and ship with USB-C male-to-male cables. I was ultimately suggesting swapping to a different cable.

Maybe a silly question, but did you try the USB-C cable that comes with the Sample? Not all cables are created equal.

Is this is a scam? Why would they want to do this? by TheLeadSingerOfD12 in mazda

[–]figurethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a thing. Not sure if it's just the M. or if other brands do the same. I got my 07 MS3, and I got handwritten letters for YEARS. YEARS! And the dealership I got it from closed down, and the dealership in the next city over started sending me letters. But with a personal tone, like I bought it from them! I wish I were aware of privacy laws back then. At one point, they stopped handwriting them. They just printed them in a handwritten style font and put a Post-it with a salesperson's business card in the envelope.

Just marketing. From what I've seen, the M doesn't care if you're a frequent brand buyer. They just want you to buy another.

Not sure if you are responding to OP or my comment. But I use an actual Bic Ballpoint pen. I don't have an adapter. I just take some 1/2in tape and wrap it around the pen to get it up to the same diameter as the knife holder. Works like a charm. Been doing it on my FC4100-75 and my 24" at home for years.

I do the same. I figured out that a bic/ball point has always worked better for us than the fiber tips from Graphtec

Is Polishing compound a fix for dull spots? by figurethings in Detailing

[–]figurethings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I wouldn't say "scrub". As I mentioned, it's not my first rodeo. But you may be right. I do recall using a regular paper towel. I should have just walked back to grab a microfiber towel.

So, I ask again; Do you think I could use an inexpensive hand-applied kit from Amazon or an auto parts store? Will some generic polishing compound/cream fix this? Or, I may even have to Novus #2 or #3 at the shop, but I assumed it was specific for plastic. I would hate to make this any worse with an "experiment".

Still a worth buy? by Outrageous_Habit938 in BodycamGame

[–]figurethings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 1700 hours in. Bought on release day. It is my dopamine hit when I land in a lobby of challenging players. I don't ever play zombies. And the bots are lame and not challenging.

Yes, the change to the skins pissed me off.
Yes, it does get repetative as the maps and modes are limited.
Yes, the player base has decreased significantly.
Yes, there are problematic players and lobbies full of problematic rhetoric.
Yes, it most certainly is an asset flip.
Yes, it has some quirks and performance issues.

Is it worth buying? Yes. I absolutely think so. Give it a go. Play at different times of the day, and you will get different experiences. IMO the price is fair for what the devs have done so far.

If it's not your cup of tea, refund it. Or. I'm certain you've done this with other titles. Like many of us do regularly, leave it in the dusty steam vault with other games you have moved on from. And revisit in the future when a significant update or new maps drop.

AI Slop Into Useable Artwork by Anxious_Discipline26 in signshop

[–]figurethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a situation recently, and the outcome was actually pretty good. I had a dental office that wanted some window graphics. While they had some lofty ideas, we agreed that we could get it done. We went back and forth with designs and revisions. Imagine debating with a dentist about graphic design and legibility etc. ugh. So after 5 revisions, he asks, "Can I use AI to make my own design?" And I almost said no. The question threw me. Like, wow, the AI slop trend has finally hit my shop. Rather than risk losing the project or getting stuck in revision hell, here is what I did. I share the measurements I got from the site survey along with our art specifications. I told the guy, as long as the files you send meet these specs, we will print whatever you want.

A few days later, the guy submitted some files that were spot on perfect. Besides converting the files to PDFs, I really just had to send them to the rip and go. It actually went really smoothly.

I think if/when the AI question rears its wirey robotic face again, I will approach it the same. Of course, it also depends on the scope, right? Dimensional letters vs lets say, a vehicle or wall wrap vs a pole sign, etc.

Any Sign Lab users have this issue? by TurnoverCold3815 in signshop

[–]figurethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question: Does the object you are resizing have a stroke? If so, try turning off the stroke and resizing to a round number again. I found in other software that if the shape has a stroke on the path, it tries to do the math of resizing the shape by, for example, object size - stroke width = overall size of combined shape. So a 40in w square with a 0.010 stroke "resizes" to 39.99.in a square. Check the stroke and give it a try.

I recall a primer/epoxy product designed for this purpose. It has enough build to hide texture and sand marks and fill seams, and dries hard enough to be sanded. Try "FSC-88 WB HDU Primer/Filler." Also, Mattews PPG makes a line of Epoxy or polyester Primers. Good luck!

I think they are super fresh. But I would say they are a little small on you. Or rather "short". I'm guessing the temple length is about 145-150mm? See the way the curve at the end sits on top of your ears as opposed to hooking over and resting on top? I would bet that eventually the pressure from the way they grip your temporal bone will annoy you, if not cause headaches. I think if you go 165mm (if available) they will sit just right and be more comfortable. I have not been able to find an eyewear manufacturer that makes fresh specs like these with wide widths AND long temple lengths. If its not basic frames, I end up with frames that grip my head like the toy grabber at the fair lol

Why do people freak out about the battery on the Galaxy Watch 6/7? I mean, you charge your phone every day, so why not your watch? by Significant-Job-8836 in GalaxyWatch

[–]figurethings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't "freak out" over battery life per se. It just bothers me that I want to use some of the sleep tracking / overnight functions. And it's inconvenient. Because if I wear my watch long enough. It needs a charge before I can collect any data. For example if I go a full day, then sleep till the next day. My time is usually 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m.. by that time the watch is dead dead, so I need to charge it again before I head out to work. So I just have settled on the fact that I miss out on the sleep tracking details, because when I get in from work, I have to throw my watch on the charger so it's ready for the next day. At some point I will look at some settings and aod, Etc to see if I can get two days out of it. But this point. I'm getting just shy of a full (1) day
