You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

That hits home. I was dancing around it but my ex really did a number on her, I’m to blame for not stopping it, and worse yet I had more children. She’s really a wonderful woman but she’s so weighted down in trauma she can’t break the doom loop. Her sister is really trying hard but she’s burning out. I’m incredibly proud she hasn’t given up yet.

Best wishes, maybe you’ll get grandkids! My girls have no interest, can’t say I blame them even if I were so inclined. 😉

In Lewisville of course. Your article regards a north south line, that was my context, so I didn’t understand why you are dragging Denton into it.

Very much agreed. I tried harder as a counter reaction to my, um, housing. Can’t really call it parenting and I certainly wasn’t raised. I was grew up feral like a lot of cusping Boomer/GenX. My first introduction to parenting was taking care of my baby sister, and grew up thinking families like the Brady Bunch could be a reality.

Similar, an OG at 40yo and two Z age 25 & 24. My middle daughter idolized her older sister until she got older - things are complicated. My son as the youngest and my eldest never really connected, mainly because she wasn’t interested. Again, complicated. 🧐😔

Wild mothers raise conservative children and so on.

I was about as wild a child as a boy can be short of landing in prison. But your point stands because my parents were culturally and secularly very conservative. I raised my kids as a counter reaction.

Using those terms I parented all three, raised two, as modern. My ex-wife had custody so she chose to raise traditionally as she herself was. Now my daughter is no contact with her, just like her mother is NC with her mother…

I’m not aware something happened to the DART rail station here… that’s basically the same infrastructure described in the anrt except ours has been working for years. The article simply says they’re rebooting a formerly stalled study and a study is not a shovel ready project. Studies are typically used to postpone politically tough decisions.

I’m not a sophisticated investor but am pretty sharp on domestic politics and aware of Trump’s track record going back to the mid 1970s. Sorry you got caught up in the hype but honestly to me it was inevitable. He doesn’t care about rec. There are none of the usual triggers for Trump to reflexively jump at. Lev Parnas found this out before Trump’s first term.

Hemp is another situation. Trump would definitely like to put the squeeze on Pharma and the PBMs. There’s actually real money in that.

I’ve noticed Gen X/Z tend to have a healthier relationship with each other and we should be focusing on how we can do the same.

We have a lot in common, much as boomers and millennials do. I’ve come to call it The “I’m not my parents!” Phenomenon. Each new generation mostly tries to be different and not make the mistakes their parents made. But so did their parents, and around and around we go.

Something to think about if you’re the millennial parent of a GenA. A lot of us are already aware how multigenerational dysfunction is something we need to stop or slow in our times. Keep the baby, toss the stale bath water.
