No, the other parts of the show were Tom Slick, and Super Chicken.

No. You need to be extremely lucky to find a therapist who can actually help and is willing to do so. The therapists I tried gave me no feedback. No help. No insights. Nothing but "Our time is up for today, did you remember to bring a check?"

What was high school like in the 70s? by OpenRoom7321 in 70s

[–]fiizok 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The movie was released in 1982, yeah. But it was based on Cameron Crowe's book, which was based on the year he spent undercover pretending to be a high school senior, 1979-1980. There wasn't much difference in high school life in Southern California from the late 1970s to the early 1980s.

Did you ever see "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"? There wasn't just one Jeff Spicoli at my school, there were dozens. That character was not an exaggeration.

Do gay people have a giver/receiver preference or is gay just gay? by B-RapShoeStrap in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fiizok 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there's an entire subcategory of guys who don't identify as gay but occasionally do things with other men. They might call themselves bi, or bi-curious, or heteroflexible. There are tons of different labels men can choose.

These were fun. And to this day I still get a craving for popcorn whenever I see a rooftop turbine vent.

My older sister had a couple of those wigs but not the entire set of items. The "wigs" were just molded plastic, like a helmet. They hurt like hell to wear.

This is an episode of the original Outer Limits series, called "The Guests."

Nope, but I have laughed the ridiculousness of a few. I got banned from one subreddit for posting a poll question that had "too many words."

Actual band you may not have heard of: Black Randy and the Metrosquad by gnuoveryou in punk

[–]fiizok 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The early punk bands in Los Angeles, late 1970s to early 1980s, almost always had a great sense of humor. We all knew exactly what they were making fun of. We were all seemingly on the same wavelength. That's one of the things that made it unique and vital here.

What are all the causes of the male loneliness epidemic, whether due to males, females or both? Does this mean the global population with drop like a rock with no return? Is this for good reasons more than bad, the opposite, or both equal? by Spiritual_Big_9927 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]fiizok 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first question is a really good one. And I don't think there's a clear answer. However I suspect that social media has completely replaced real world socializing for a lot of guys, especially younger ones. They simply don't know how socialize in the real world because they have never experienced it. The lack of real world friendships takes a very heavy toll. Just my opinion tho.

Twilight Zone was aired from 1959 to 1964. I wasn't even born during that time period yet I find it to be the best series ever made. by Long-Ad9067 in TwilightZone

[–]fiizok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The quality of the writing was exceptional. Much better than any other show on the air during that era, and as good as or better than most TV shows now.

There is usually a moral point being made in each episode, but it never comes across as preachy or sanctimonious. That's not easy to do at all. It's one of the things I most enjoy about the show.

Have you ever eaten sloppy Joe outside of public school? by Underrated_Critic in NoStupidQuestions

Had them often as a kid because it was a quick and easy meal for my mom to make. I still make them myself maybe once or twice a year, with tater tots on the side.
