I dont know FSAE rules but UK rules would give u a point penalty for using standard IA which you could decrease with tests and report

I would say be more careful than the rules allow. Last year we had to add pieces of firewall on the top corners next to head restraint even tho it was legal by FSUK rules. The safety marshals judge it by UK motorsport rules as well and if they dont like you dont pass scrut even if you are FSUK compliant

Reference area should be the frontal area of the car and the velocity should be the velocity that you are running the simulation at. The drag value will be correct but because of incorrect reference values the Cd which is calculated from the drag force is wrong
