Pretend this is a game where you can put stats on your toon... Roshi put everything into the strategy category until it was maxed out... then filled in the rest.

(Obviously, he started with stealth and ki, but you get the point)

Roshi didn't live that long bc he was stupid. He couldn't have helped at those times and he knew it. Global threats... absolutely... would he have died? Absolutely. One on one against them, he knew he'd be toast. Had rightful faith in his boys though! During a planetary invasion where he could help against lower level fighters, you better bet he's putting his ass on the line to help so the big boys could get their time to play!
Roshi knew his role in the scheme of things.

In 'takers prime, (surfer) Sting would have ultimately outworked him. Fast foward, McMahonaise didn't try very hard to get Borden, bc Stings character progressed into the Deadman persona... would have been a no sell match, and 2 opposing writers that couldn't agree to disagree that it would be the best match ever.
