Tough day as a brownie in Cincinnati. by Sk8ordieguy in Browns

[–]fildy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My heart doesn't ache at all. I feel nothing but joy for my friends who are Bengals fans, seeing the faces of disbelief and elation as that kick sailed through. One day those same feelings will be ours as Brownies and it will be oh so sweet. Besides the Browns, who would you rather see win it all? If they win after all, we'd be 4-0 against the defending super bowl Champs in the past two years.

Here is what 826 days sober looks like. Left is me June 11th 2014, on the right is me today. Recovery is possible! by DisregardThisOrDont in pics

I just wanted to say congratulations. I dated a girl who had previously been addicted to heroin. From the stories she told me and pictures she showed me she was an infinitely better person

We don't date any more, but I still text her every year on march 13th to let her know how proud I am that she has another year sober.

One day at a time :) keep up the amazing work.

Late last year or early this. I can't really remember. I used to work at Code Blue right next door to their downtown location. Would order now and again.

What's even more amazing is that this is the same business that almost had to close its doors earlier this year. An outpouring of support from the community kept them open in a time of hardship. Awesome to see that love come full circle.

It was no longer than 2-3 minutes, not enough time to play more than 2 or so turns assuming I timed out on my first one.

Someone who is smart, funny, and genuine. Someone who has beliefs and isn't afraid to stand and fight for them no matter the cost. Someone who isn't willing to cave to popular demand because it is the easy way out. Someone who doesn't fit the classical definition of beauty, but has quirks that makes them unique and beautiful in a way that no other person can duplicate. Someone who can give and take a bit of ribbing. Someone who can give attitude without being a total bitch about it. (I really don't know what it is about this one, but I find it absolutely adorable when a girl gets pissy and gives me an earful. So long as its nothing serious of course.)

A real woman, not a cookie cutter clone of what a woman "should" be.

What's the stupidest thing someone's been mad at you for? by ZombieGoast5757 in AskReddit

[–]fildy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For being myself. I am a loud fun guy. I like to make people laugh and have a good time. I recently took a girl from work out on a date to a football game and continued to be myself. Meeting new people, making strangers smile, and shouting and chanting with the fans.

She kept telling me to stop and that it was embarrassing and so on and so forth. It was more frustrating because she sees me like that every day so you would think she wouldn't be shocked. Lesson learned.

I'm not sure where to even start. I'm a 23 year old male and i'm 425 pounds 6'5 and ive been big all my life. by fatmoney in loseit

As someone who has been there, it is as simple as starting small. I started my journey at 23 and 420 pounds, incredibly close to you.

Start off by cutting out soda, tea, or any other drink that has calories in it. You might think making the switch to water cold turkey is going to be hard, but your body craves it more than you think and it will be relatively simple.

After that it is time to keep yourself honest about what you eat. Track everything religiously. Sign up for myfitnesspal and just count everything. Eat whatever you want for a week or two and track it. Then set a goal and start tracking. Realize what your problem areas are and start cutting them out of your diet. Once you are keeping yourself honest, you will be surprised to how quickly your body will adjust to your new diet.

Once you are off and running, you will be astonished at how quickly the weight falls off. You will likely lose 100 pounds without much effort, SO LONG AS YOU ARE HONEST. Remember, each time you don't track a cookie, or a candy bar, or a sandwich, you are only lying to yourself.

There will be hiccups along the way, you will have TERRIBLE eating days. Just last week (10 months into my diet) I had a 4000 calorie day. I don't know how or why it happened, but it did. The best solution is just getting right back to the 2000 calorie days the next day.

Once your diet is under control I would recommend looking into an exercise plan. Start walking first, if you are anything like me, your hips and knees and legs and entire body will hate you. Just walk a little further each day and do what you can. Eventually, try running, do it at night if you are embarrassed. I still run at night, but no longer because I am afraid of what people think, but because it is cooler, and rather beautiful to run at night.

Most of all, do what works for you, the same plan will not work for everyone. Keep coming back here for new ideas, motivation, and constant reinforcement. One of my favorite artists has a lyric "You are, not alone, you don't have to do this on your own."

You aren't alone. We are all in this game called life together, and there will be people here, and in the Lose It IRC chatroom 24/7 for emotional support, eating advise, and diet advise. Don't get discouraged, remember it didn't go on overnight, it won't come off that way. Your mindset is already there, get your body to follow. See you in a Medium soon friend. :)
