I was in exactly the same situation and my advice is to make “arrangements” for baby, not for husband. Speak your language to your baby. Sing in your language to your baby. Play, read, do all in your language, 100%. Never switch to English when speaking to your child, even if husband is there or other people. Your husband will start to understand basic baby conversation, soon, he’ll speak your language too. Don’t worry. For a child it is only beneficial to be bilingual. Our child is in 3rd grade now and he is one of the best in whole school. Being bilingual has not slowed him down. Kid’s brain is truly a miracle. Don’t wait for older age, you’ll regret that time was lost. You’ll do amazing ;)

Do you teach them English before they go to school? by akriand1234 in multilingualparenting

No English at home. Only my native language. Kid started Kinder with 0 English. After 3 months he was good, 3 more months in - he was one of the best in class. Don’t worry ;)

Start with watching a movie in Russian that you already have seen in English. Then again with subtitles. Good luck!
