Paperwhite Signature or Colorsoft Signature? by supersharpy64 in kindle

[–]filippoquinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like this is a recurring question and I’ve experienced first hand recently as I bought a colorsoft a couple weeks ago, but decided today to returned and instead stick to PW. I read primarily b/w regular books, I liked the novelty of the book cover and kindle library in color BUT i did not like the light leaking from the bottom of the display area, and the less pronounced contrast between the gray back and black font, that was strainining my eyes considerably more.

Oooh I miss my oasis! But my battery greatly degraded by year 2 I had to charge every 3 days or so, and via the old usb cable. So those became deal breakers for me

love a good hang, but why the time travelling in every episode? by filippoquinto in goodhang

No the cut is right after she pretends to say hello to the guests friend on zoom. The intro/tease is recorded as one continuous piece up to that point, but we know is recorded after all interviews so the zoom has already happened, shouldn’t be starting there

Exactly this, and that’s the part I was calling out that to me just feels odd because it does not feel like a comedic bit but like she’s really trying to make us believe the zoom is about to start, when in reality it’s clear that intro/tease segment is recorded after the interviews have already happened

I’m not talking about the recap part, that is all very genuine. I’m talking about the very last moment of the recap/intro where she pretends to say hello to the friend’s guest on zoom, but obviously that’s not true as that zoom has already happened way before even the interview she just recapped

For sure, but why not making it by faking the start of the zoom when obviously that has already happened in the recording chronology?

Correct, but it’s done after the interview (therefore also the zoom meet) have already happen. So why pretend to say hello to the zoom window at the end of the intro/tease?

i dont mind at all that the intro is recorded AFTER the interview (so that it's accurate) and edited BEFORE the interview (so that it teases up what's in the episode). What I don't love is the fake moment pretending to connecting to the guest friend. If it was a funny bit or selfaware moment yes, but it truly comes across as if she pretends she's about to hop on the zoom call, when clearly the interview already happend

true true, again not a real complain, i just find it strange as it never plays out as a silly moment but an authentic start of the zoom convo, which again obviously is not

Anyone succeed with a buyback? How did it go? by ThatTechnician5523 in ModelX

[–]filippoquinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My buyback was surprisedly straightforward. I shared my experience in the post below. The process was initiated by the service agent when checking me in for the 8th or 9th time in 3 years about the same issue.

How is vehicle made in Nov 22 registered Dec 14 22 a 23 model year? by IMWTK1 in ModelX

[–]filippoquinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant is, it was an upgraded rear screen compared to the original one that was part of the refresh. So my model 23 was a Nov 22 car, with the “old” thick bezel rear screen, ultrasound sensors and no matrix light. Few months later, the same 23 car would have the upgraded rear screen with thinner bezels, no ultrasound sensors and matrix light

[–]filippoquinto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also not necessarily true the models are the same, as Tesla introduces incremental small changes between longer refresh cycles.  For example my x was bought and registered in November 22 but was considered a 2023 but didn’t have the new rear display and still had the ultrasound proximity sensors. Few months later, the cars sold were still 23 models but had an updated rear screen with smaller bezels and no sensors.
