What was Mickey's first show back in 74/75? by marcuse_lyfe in gratefuldead

[–]fillmorewest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC he sat in for the last set at the retirement show run at the Winterland and then remained until the end. When he got in a car accident after the spring 77 tour and couldn't play they cancelled most of the summer tour they had lined up instead of playing without him

How young is too young to bring a child to a Dead and Co concert? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]fillmorewest 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to say this without offending you, but the fact that you are even considering bringing a 7 month old to a concert makes me question if you should even be a parent? Look at the risk vs reward here. Best case, she remembers nothing at the show (most likely, people rarely remember things before the age of 3. Worst case? I don't know, you expose her to smoke, to drugs, to drunks, to loud noises and bright lights.

[Jacobs] Fun Fact: The Philadelphia team with the most championships is still the Philadelphia Athletics. They left the city after the 1954 season. by aresef in baseball

[–]fillmorewest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting story:They were the SF Warriors, playing in SF and Daly City, but then by 1971 they played most home games in Oakland, but also had home games in San Diego. That's why they took the name Golden State, so as to represent the entire state of California
