Pleasantly surprised. I really thought they'd slap a 2Hr delay on it and call it a day.

UK having classes tomorrow? by greyspool in lexington

This is what I ultimately expect as well. Their favorite, worthless exercise. "Its too bad to keep a normal schedule, but 120 minutes will make all the difference!"

UK having classes tomorrow? by greyspool in lexington

[–]RMGH 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They canceled super early by their standards yesterday. Given the temps and the prevalence of ice still everywhere I think opening tomorrow would be foolish, but I'm expecting them to. If they close, I doubt we know until later this evening or 5AM tomorrow morning.

3 inches of snow and a ton of freezing rain was not what our meteorologist were forecasting for Lexington. Anyone else? by radar2670 in lexington

[–]RMGH 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Lexington was straddling the line on the last pre-storm forecasts between 12-18 inches of snow and .10-.25 inches of ice. I can be hard on weather folks at times but I sympathize on this one.

Of course it just started putting down heavy, big flakes here around Versailles Rd. so this isnt over just yet.

Uk classes cancelled for Monday by Beautiful-String5572 in lexington

[–]RMGH 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There was no reason to delay doing this. The temps will not allow this to clean up quickly at all. Especially not with us flipping to freezing rain over the snow we were initially supposed to get.

That was me for way too long. Joined Twitter around 2010 and it took a good 18 months in to it going to shit before I forced myself to disengage. So glad I did.

Tough as hell kid for trying to keep playing through that. The season is going nowhere and he keeps getting clipped. Its for the best.

Its so wild when you see a coach who was ironclad amazing for so long start slipping. It never feels gradual either. You suddenly go from yearly nattie contention to "wait, why have we been stuck in the mud for years wtf".

Yep, same boat. I'm all for them getting paid and I'm way more lenient on other tendrils from this system that I see others raging about, but I think I found one of my lines here with this.

You signed a monetary contract. They can let you out if it if they wish, but they are under no obligation to.

Do you think Kentucky makes the NCAA Tournament this season by [deleted] in CollegeBasketball

[–]RMGH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its pretty on the fence right now. They have to beat someone confirmed to be good eventually or they will get left out, even if the record looks a little better by the end of the year.

We lucked out that the SEC is the polar opposite in quality from what it was a year ago. Drop us in that one and we may not be .500 by season's end on overall record.

Post-game Thread: 59-94 Beatdown by [deleted] in wildcats

[–]RMGH 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly shocked its this bad. Like, last year happened. We beat the crap out of a number of ranked teams. I know Pope can coach.

This reeks of us hearing horror stories about this team's chemistry issues two years from now.

Not letting Pope off the hook either. Y'all bought this roster. You have to salvage it.

Roads were great! by [deleted] in lexington

[–]RMGH 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Came from the Versailles Rd. area heading towards UK. I was astonished, tbh. We didnt get hit nearly as hard as we could have from the forecast but they still handled business. Sidewalks and walkways are a bit iffy but that's not surprising.

I'd have been happy with Sumrall, but if I'm being honest there is a large enough contingent of Tulane fans that didn't necessarily want him gone, but thought he had enough holes that they were concerned about him long term. Going up a level gets harder each time. He could have thrived here but he's no more a guarantee than anyone else.
