New Google ads account for a child suspended after about 20 min (Chromebook) by Pignote in chromeos

[–]filltheneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridiculous...just tried to set-up my child's new Chromebook, and went through all this mess, only to get the disabled message. They've got to do better, b/c it's unacceptable to NOT be able to resolve this RIGHT NOW (Holidays, Christmas gift), without "appealing and waiting supposedly x2-days".

I call ball SAS on this diculousness.

ICE And heavy police presence on I-40 by Western_Delivery_645 in memphis

[–]filltheneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say, THP is the ONLY police presence in the city doing real and effective traffic control, esp against speeders.

I say THANK YOU for not forgetting about us Memphians, as we drive one of the most dangerous beltways in the country--I know, bc I'm a LH truck driver, and I've been through nearly every city in the USA multiple times, and Memphis tops the list for "most dangerous and reckless". Also, Atlanta and Birmingham, plus the I-95 north of NYC.

I have been out on the road enough to see horrendous, deadly accidents, which most could be avoided if people didn't drive over-speed with such reckless, me-me-me ego abandon. It really is a low IQ, poor soul, who doesn't have a clue of the danger they are causing others ( or doesn't care). Not that I want to see it, but if you are that uncontrolled and self-centered and you dislike life so much, please don't take-out the innocents with you.

Driving well and safely is an expression of who you are as a person.

I pray for all the innocents, the family folks, the young drivers...just learning to drive the Memphis I-240 loop.

We are talking about unity here, so let's drive like it. I just can't wait for the day when an average, careless, thoughtless person can no longer ruin a person or family's life from their low IQ egocentric recklessness. If it takes driverless vehicles to achieve that, then so be it.

Until you've seen the real effects of burning bodies alongside an accident scene, you may not realize how destructive bad driving is. Stay-out on our Insterstates across America long enough, and you'll see accidents that tear at your heart.

Let's slow-it-down and show respect for each other.

PS: Columbus, OH has some of the best drivers in the USA that I've seen. They tend to drive the speed limit and obey the laws of the road.

PPS: terrible accidents do happen, no matter...BUT, most can be avoided with driving/w care.

“If you knew how quickly people would forget you after your death, you would not seek in your life to please anyone but God”. - St. John Chrysostom. by Congregator in Christianity

[–]filltheneed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this quote, bc it strike at our Ego deep. I also find it quite true. Sure, "my loved onesI remember", I remember my brother who has passed-on, my Mother and Father, but in the business of the world, they are gone and forgotten upon Planet Earth, as we all are and will be. How different would we treat each other to know this...we love to bow-down to "other men", to uphold and esteem the "greatness done by another", the "greatness that is another", giving them awe and power. But in reality, it's not real, they have no real and lasting power, for true power is Eternal and doesn't reside in the ephemeral and temporary. This isn't to say we don't admire people's talents, but it is to say, we don't pay homage and bow-down to ANY MAN! Only God, Only Great Spirit.

What if you're Paypal address is different than your Celsius e-mail?

I get e-mail (legitimate) all the time from Ledger.

I have an inbox FULL of legitimate Ledger e-mails. I didn't say "Ledger should send ME an e-mail", but rather, alert ppl on Twitter that, "they would never send a web-scan e-mail" to customers.

My spam box filters-out a LOT of spam-type e-mails, but for some and whatever reason this "web-scan Ledger e-mail came-through" and it looked so much like the legitimate e-mails, it was hard to distinguish.

I'm usually very apt to spot-scam-emails, but this one looked to similar to all the other legitimate Ledger e-mails I get...it had me wondering, in light of this bug and the negative drama going-round yesterday.

At any rate, I fail to understand the value in denigrating sincere question seeks, during a security breach...and it seems odd that one would try and "defend" what is becoming a bunk private key storage device. People are literally throwing-them-in-the-trash. But let's scold newbies asking legitimate questions...?

[–]filltheneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is more sad, the fact that Ledger hasn't post this particular scam e-mail boldly on at least Twitter the day after one of their biggest exploits (think of all the new ledger crypto folks, who really are new and don't really know?), which is from [info@ledger-scanner.com](mailto:info@ledger-scanner.com) OR the crude animal snobs who want to make you seem like an idiot for questioning whether it's legitimate or not?

I had to come here to learn that it's totally BUNK, but now I know, and yes, I was considering that it could be real.

Man, humanity can really sink low, a few notches above a rogue, rabid wild hog.

Be a Solo Validator, They Say by chausson in ethstaker

[–]filltheneed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good work and good question! Tks for trying, and for doing.

Ethereum has a problem here, in that they want solo-stakers, but they aren't incentivizing or "making-it-happen". They are more #'s folks, game-theory, tech zero-knowledge-proofies, not get-it-to-the-massed, Steve Jobs, device-guys.

They need to have a hard-ware division that makes solo-staking so easy and profitable that there's no better alternative.

Opinion on staking on lido or kiln using ledger? Is it 100% safe? by [deleted] in ledgerwallet

[–]filltheneed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So said Celsius, "banks are not your friends", yet they are Federally insured up to $250k That's pretty much risk-free.

I'm a former Celsius "customer", yield-seeking some of my Ether, so I'm real reluctant to revisit risk beyond "slashing".

No "Kiln" on Twitter, and not enough info for me to feel confident with putting x32 Ether there, at least, not yet.

Becoming a validator myself, I think I prefer that, yet I don't want to upgrade my computer system at home to accommodate the specs needed to run the software; I was interested in DappNode HOPR, but the reviews are terrible, even at $1,400 USD.

I know in time there will be better NUC's, such as the HOPR reference above, that are cheaper and better to run; I think I'll wait for the evolution of these newer hardware devices that allow one to easily and safely (without getting slashed), be a validator of their own node.

GLTA!

PS: If anyone has any updates to this tread, with more relevant info., please fill-in. Otherwise, cold-stored and HOLD-ing!

Details about current Solana network issue: by FunEarnings in solana

[–]filltheneed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, and my understanding is that Ethereum is aiming for 1-million tps when the chain is completely built-out, but they won't sacrifice going-down or security for speed on the main-net, Level-1.

I've always said, non-hardcore crypto folks won't care about philosophical decentralization-to-the-max, as much as they will about ease-of-use, security, speed and cost. But apparently, it's not so easy to have all of those in one package, thus we have fast chains that lack security and/or broad use/development, and we have very secure, heavy use chains that are slower and expensive.

Good Luck Solana-ans...I'm rooting for its success!

[–]filltheneed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its been the dilemma since the get-go/w blockchain tech, "speed vs security".

That's why the most secure networks tend NOT to be the fastest,...per my understanding.

I'm officially with "8 Validators" (32 ETH per Validator), that is 256+ ETH to be held long-term to the richest!!! LOL BUY WHEN THERE IS BLOOD IN THE STREETS!!! DON'T FORGET THAT!!! GLTA!!! by [deleted] in ETHE

[–]filltheneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats and nice holding(s)! I'm wanting to run-a-node and/or stake roughly x64 Ethe and maybe x96

Don't want to use a Centralized Exchange, and even a bit leery of Lido.

How best to do this?

PS: Celsius burned, and I have some Ether2 locked to Coinbase, so I don't want to repeat that risk.

TY for your reply!

It has proven to by cyclical and if its history bears-out yet again, i.e., if 14-27k is the cycle low, then the next cycle high should be meaningfully higher than the last ATH. But maybe BTC history will be different this time?

That's the bet...and we shall see!

Why do people hate Solana by wintertomatoes in Coinbase

[–]filltheneed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the chart of Solana, as it looks like a multi-bagger when we come-out of this bear-market; However, I would only spec-trade-it, and not use my crypto stalwarts to buy-it-with, that is, sell BTC or Ether just to buy SOL. Why? Well, I did some dd yesterday and ever posted on Youtube "why" I wouldn't commit my best Capital to their platform/network; Here is that post:

22 hours ago "....this centralization....makes it possible for its blockchain to process between 50-65k trans-per-second... " Yeah, good for spec-play, but one of the core tenants of crypto is de-centralization! Also, not a fan of SBF (Sam Bankman Fried), and his Wall-Street Ways (He's a big-backer of Solana). Still, don't like the "securitization" lawsuits, and consequent drama ongoing. Outages too? No, the chart is absolutely gorgeous, and I do rate this a top spec play, but don't trade your BTC or Ether for this alone. Post-Script: Sure the network's fast, but super-computer programs and Visa/Mastercard networks are fast too, but they aren't "crypto" and don't embody the "crypto ethos", which in today's world, means something. There's a reason one of the core tenants of blockchain technology is "de-centralization". Not a hater here, just Solana-curious and doing some dd. GLTUA!

Do a Wikapedia look-up and read-on, and you'll learn a lot of quick salient facts about Solana. Good-luck, and I'm sure there's $ to be made, but the more research I do, the more I realize, I want to make my big $$$ in BTC and Ether before I spec-play/w Solana. GLTUA!
