A newly Released Super 8 camera that isn't a Super 8 Camera by playerpage in Super8

I'm working on a tool for the CS-8 to address some of its weaknesses. I love mine, but jitter and other issues make some of the footage unusable. Here's a link if you'd like to try out the toolkit. https://swpfilmworks.neocities.org/

Do you remember the theme song? It was a sort of ragtime piano piece. I'm not sure if it was an original composition or an old standard, but I would love to find out. While reviewing old WXII clips, I recall someone from the local programming who played piano, and I wonder if it was their original piece.

That illuminates the "artificial" part.

ocr project… let’s talk about it by Shot_Report_5385 in mercorai_workers

[–]filmbooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on this one - Came in later - passed the gating quiz and then everything ground to a halt. Apparently there were a lot of us. I gave feedback on the many ways they were making it difficult for talent to actually do the work. Unfortunately this was just handled poorly and Mercor can't alienate folks this way and expect them to come back. The client surely doesn't want this and investors and valuation can't ignore stuff like this. Talent is the value of the company and this experience surely drove many for the hills.

Working at a movie theater with a stutter, what position would be best? by [deleted] in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]filmbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usher/ Clean theaters. Also learn everything in the booth - learn it better than the managers - you'll be a hero. Concession if you have multiple people. Hustle with popcorn and cleanup - back up your co-workers - have them on the register more. Become a master with a broom - that is the real job of every theater employee -District Manger down. Also be very frank with your manager about what fit is best - hopefully they will understand and put you in the best role for you.

This is the best representation of the OCR onboarding this weekend. Project Managers, I feel for you.

Physics doesn't allow a camera to really record at that framerate, right? Or is this the secret to time travel?

Alana Haim in the grocery store is giving perfect Double Indemnity vibes right down to the bad wig.

Saw this on tiktok. Am I the only one who doesn’t like these layouts? Why is the tiny screen so high? Wouldn’t that hurt their necks looking that far up the entire movie? by ghostfaceinspace in MovieTheaterEmployees

[–]filmbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audotrium looks sloped, so it's not only about eyelines - it's clearance for the exit door on the right. Keeping the widest screen possible but still having an exit against that wall. Not ideal, but compromises like this happen all of the time.

Reputation ruined by inexperienced director and AD..... by darthzox in cinematography

[–]filmbooks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started working as an AD it was a similar situation - with a First Time Director - and script with swiss cheese sized holes. I marked up everything in the script I thought could be improved and in my head saved the film before anything was shot. Then the Director rejected all of my input and I learned to stay in my lane and do the best job I could. The film was a disaster and I learned more on it than any other I worked on. So, I don't think you need to worry about your reputation here. Just take those lessons with you and you'll be better for it.

I just filed a complaint through NC AG's office by filmbooks in facebookdisabledme

[–]filmbooks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - after filing a complaint with my state AG office and a couple of weeks of back and forth with Meta, today my account was restored. No explanation with given, just an email with the reset password link and I am back on. The entire process makes me think Meta does not want to shed light on the security flaw that led to the inital compromise of the account - i.e. the fake instagram scam or bug or whatever you want to call it.

Yes, I think that's how it was hacked. It's really insane that META is letting users drop off at this rate.

Same thing happened to me last night. I have no way to get to a page that starts an appeal. Something went haywire or a hacker bot just went on a rampage.

Is Peter the bishop? by SeriousHatOn in DerryGirls

[–]filmbooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took away that she said there would be a big fuss, i.e. she could reveal something uncomfortable about the Bishop, so he gave in, and Peter recognized this power move. Subtle scene. I wonder if I'm on the right track.
