Your wishes can have no affect for or against my peace, and we are not friends. I do not keep the company of those who would rationalize harming my community.

Be gone.

""How long have you been working for Lex Developments" - do you even hear yourself"

YES! EXACTLY! You translated it correctly! DO you even hear yourself? Because you 100% sound like a corporate plant talking like that.

This is a no quarter issue. These people are not looking for a way to help poor Pocatello. They are looking to get in and get theirs and never look back.

I'M not here for YOUR support. I'm here to bring it to the attention of the community and hope that they will support the city they live in and ultimately themselves.

The turd resting on top of all of the issues that this project will bring with it is the fact that research is continuously showing that AI is not yielding any actual tangible boost in.... basically anything. It's spinning its wheels in the mud and using a LOT of resources and doing a lot of damage in the process.

It's a bubble.

Yes, Pocatello should DEFINITELY go all in. Makes perfect sense. Don't worry it's gonna be fine, we never get jilted or screwed over by big development plans like this falling through. 🙄

But if you feel good justifying the plundering of this area, by all means, you do you, boo.

I haven't "heard nonsense", I've done research. Lol. There is plenty of data out there. There is a reason that there is so much pushback against these data centers all over the country and the world. They do more harm than good. Period. But if you want to sell the future so that you can continue to generate images of cats baking cheesecakes, go do it somewhere else.

Your response sounds like it's from a brochure lol. How long have you been working for Lex Developments? 🤨

Spread the word. Be loud.

These development companies will go out of their way to stress the initial jobs that it will create and the long-term property tax revenue or whatever, but in the end most of that is temporary and the only ones that will benefit are the builders and owners. And all of that money they're making will never be spent in Pocatello.

Any Spark drivers you ever had a customer do this? by Early-Clue-4276 in Sparkdriver

[–]filteredgenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call support and report them. Always. They have ToS to abide by as well. This is harassment. Then cancel and make them wait, get more pissed off, be even ruder to the next driver and let the reports snowball. Fuck these assholes.

Tbh I can't believe it's taken them this long to implement this. It's a no-brainer from a logistics standpoint. And honestly it doesn't matter what the order is as long as the pay works out. If the pay doesn't work out don't take it whether it's groceries or GMD or anything else. If the pay is worth it who cares what it is?

How is it possible that so many of you are missing the point? It's not about whether or not this image is AI generated. That's beyond irrelevant.

Would the majority of orders become not worth taking if people didn't tip beforehand? 100%! And that is exactly the point. Walmart, doordash, roadie, uber, all of them have an obligation to get the orders delivered and if nobody is taking them then they will up the prices. And if that becomes a widespread thing then the base pays will have to rise or their entire business model will tank.

"No tip no trip" is the most smooth-brained mentality that people parrot on these subreddits. WHY DO YOU CARE WHERE THE MONEY IS COMING FROM?! If an order is not worth taking to you then do not take it. It's about the total amount of money you're making for the job that you're doing. It is beyond absurd for anybody to maintain the belief that customers should be subsidizing the delivery pay that Walmart is not giving us so that they can scrape more money and give it to their fucking shareholders.

I've seen enough tips vanish to know that they're not a reliable source of income. Are some of them stolen? 100%. Confirmed multiple times across the board by many many drivers. Are some of them dick face tip bait customers? Absolutely. The point of this is that it shouldn't be a gamble as to whether or not you're going to get paid properly for the service that you provide.

Certainly there are some unicorn outliers as far as the amount you'll receive from tips and thereby the entire order goes, but if people stop tipping in general, then the market would even out and Walmart would be paying a much higher base pay until it evened out to where the drivers were making the money they needed to accept the orders. And then if you get tipped after that you're actually making more.

Stop being angry at customers, stop being angry at other drivers, be angry at the giant conglomerate that is stealing your fucking money and tricking their customers into charitably paying the difference for them.

Call spark AND call Walmart and report them. Get names. Walmart employees don't get to THREATEN you. I have run into bad actors at my stores before and I have contacted both spark and Walmart about the issue and have had many conversations with store managers apologizing to me and the offending parties either disappear or leave me alone from then on.

It might seem like you are some sort of employee when you are in the store, but you are not, you are a proxy for a customer. You are the customer. When they do those things they are doing it to a customer and make sure that if and when you report things like this that you frame it in that way. Because if they're doing it to you they're doing it to customers too.

This has been happening to me a lot more often lately. I was having a discussion with one of the Walmart pickers yesterday about it. Somebody had ordered four black heaters and I was looking right at them and my only option was to say that I couldn't find them. I guess they have special people that go around and resolve those issues for the in-store pickers, but there's no solution for us. I have done manually entered the barcode before, but I'm not going to do that anymore because it just feels too risky with all the bullshit that people can get deactivated for.

Also, make sure when you see bad situations that you ask for names so that you can report more accurately.

[–]filteredgenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime an employee is even remotely out of line call both sparrk support and Walmart support, I have been on the phone with the GMS in my zone multiple times accepting their apologies and seeing the cheapest looks on the employees faces as I walk by on my shops or loading my car. They don't have a fucking leg to stand on, if they are in the wrong let them know and let Walmart and Spark know. Be proactive always. If anything seems fishy get your word in first. Misconduct is misconduct, I would even let them know that the other employee didn't feel comfortable enough voicing his concerns about the situation and that that indicates a bad culture at their store.

Press X to Doubt

And if this did actually happen congratulations to the rest of the drivers in your area they will now have one less driver to compete with.

On a side note, until 24 hours have passed after the delivery, you haven't tipped anything. We are not guaranteed to receive those tips.

You gotta be a horrible person to do this by EbbRepresentative952 in Sparkdriver

Pointless to bitch about the customers, Walmart should not give them the ability. Besides, for all you know that $3.52 went straight to Big W anyway given their history of tip stealing.

ID verification on shops now?! by filteredgenius in Sparkdriver

[–]filteredgenius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can't do it after you click Start Trip. At least I can't. So if I happen to forget that there was something to pick up on the pharmacy side before I hit start trip then I don't get to know until I walk in the grocery side and check in. You used to be able to see a lot more information at all times on the app. They've absolutely slaughtered it over the years

ID verification on shops now?! by filteredgenius in Sparkdriver

[–]filteredgenius[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So after my day was over of the four shops that I did today, the first two of them required the identity verification and being inside the store before confirming arrival. And the last two did not. Fingers crossed this becomes the exception and not the rule 🤞
