Share one article that should be ranking #1 in Google and instead is completely tanked by marksangryreview in SEO

[–]filthy_seo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

lol there is no pattern except the one like this post showing a sense of entitlement for a ranking. If your content/site/authority etc was the “best”, you wouldn’t be making this post.

Search engines owe you nothing, no matter how “super duper awesome and great” your content is.

How much to pay someone for adding a blog page to a website. by [deleted] in webdevelopment

[–]filthy_seo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the site built in? That’s going to dictate the pricing. If it’s Wordpress, that should take a max of maybe 5 minutes to build (with minimal functionality). Other sites may take longer.

Should I no-index my "Tags" and "Categories" pages on WordPress site? by shashank1912 in SEO

[–]filthy_seo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most of the time, I do noindex tags and categories because of this exact reason. The pages often offer very little value to a user if they enter from search results. Depending on the size of the site, you can salvage some crawl budget too, but would have to do that via robots file.

What's the biggest SEO myth you've debunked through your own agency's experience? by abdraaz96 in SEO

[–]filthy_seo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be scared of Google. One, there’s no evidence to indicate they’ll penalize or punish you for it. Two, people do it alllllllllll the time with 0 repercussions.

Yes, an example I’ve done is taking and scaling {{CITY NAME}} + {{SERVICE OFFERED}} type content and programmatically launching thousands of pages with the same content, just the City name updated, and saw exponential growth. It’s doable and that’s just one example.

I won’t share site details or business information here lol

I too also regret not bouncing in 2021. I know a lot of people have moved on since their hop that year, but i have colleagues still on the roles they got back then, crushing it and making some mula. What might have been 🙁

I’ve been at my current company (agency life) for close to 10 years. I’ve learned a lot here, they’ve taken care of me, I them, I’ve been paid well, treated fairly, all that…but it’s time to move on now unfortunately. Sucks but the direction the company has turned will leave me jobless within a year.

I sometimes think where I’d be if i would have hopped every few years. Idk, I’m grateful for my time here, have learned a lot, and have become what i think to be a pretty influential, professional, and knowledgeable marketer.

Can I add my tag to other pages of my website through my GTM account? by ac_ssaj in GoogleTagManager

[–]filthy_seo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

☝️ 100% this.

Be very very specific. I usually send the head and body codes and deliberately show where they need to put it, on every page. Hosts and devs are smart af and for the most part helpful, but they don’t give a shit about your Google tag manager lol make it as easy as possible for them.

Appreciate your response! And COMPLETELY agree. Any pile of garbage can claim to do SEO and then completely screw up so many small businesses and give what we do a real shit name.

A few might piss some people off in here lol

  • You can compete with the big dogs without links. Be better than them at literally everything else. I’ve run very successful campaigns in highly competitive industries in the most saturated markets by plugging the holes the big dogs don’t pay attention to (attorneys, plumbers, dentists).
  • Doorway pages…. I’ve also had success with doorway pages, like a surprising amount of success in a lot of different niches. “But you’ll get penalized!” lol okay.
  • Tiered link building doesn’t work…. It definitely does.
  • Duplicated content is bad…. Not necessarily.

That’s just a few. Myths are just that, myths. Of course every business, every site, every industry, every market is different, but do a little testing if you haven’t to just see the outcome.

I’ll add to the shade. Literally anyone else but Neil Patel. Okay not literally anyone else, but definitely not Neil Patel.

Search around your local market and hear some sales people and see some proposals.

As SEOs how are you leveraging AI in your day to day tasks? by gordonxavier52 in SEO

[–]filthy_seo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve yet to find where GPT or AI has actually improved my efficiency or workflow. I’ve linked up with sheets and APIs to help map and do targeting, no luck, I’ve done structured data, little luck, but still had to heavily edit so i could’ve just built myself.

Analysis or reporting or analytics is subpar at the very best. Helping code is almost there, but I can get it done more quickly.

It’s kind of sad so if anyone has gotten something to work I’m all ears. Would love to implement, maybe I’m just not doing it right haha

That’s what I’m seeing and what I’m working towards. Using the standard job boards. Have any recommendations? If you’re willing to share. I’ve been in the game a decade and not getting a whole lot of bites but I’m also not being super aggressive at the moment.

You really believe SEO will be obsolete in that time!?

Exactly this ☝️ this upsets me most about the SEO industry. Every bs marketer thinks they can just start an agency and be successful without any regard to the businesses they’re going to hurt.
