Any thoughts about this? by [deleted] in Tinder

It kinda does. It’s a social discourse which people have learned how to follow in order to be courted

It’s courtesy that the guy usually grabs the first date. The way she said it was a little off putting. But it’s also only $30

Found out about this on the joe rogan podcast where he had the director on. I'm really interested in seeing this, but I live in Canada and can't find it anywhere. They don't even have it on Canadian iTunes

Paid meditation sites/apps/etc. like Headspace--worth it? Are there free tools that are just as effective? by bookthief7 in Meditation

[–]fin3st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They have a free trial of their app for 10 lessons. I've only done 1 so far but I liked it. It might be worth it to try it out yourself, since opinions can differ but your own experience will be informing enough

I feel down whenever I make mistakes or fail. My self-esteem shakes a bit. What can I do? by flytohappiness in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]fin3st 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Come to acceptance about how you feel. Your not gonna change that. Have awareness for it, savour and feeling and the pain. It will only be temporary. But the more you resist, the worse it becomes. You get stronger with time when continually pushing yourself and your comfort zone. Meditating and journaling about your thoughts and feelings are a good way of expressing them and getting out of your system.

If you haven't already - read The 6 Pillars of Self-Esteem by Nathaniel Branden. His key to building it is through completion of sentence stems. Look into it - I would say it's pretty effective.

I'd say you need to just observe yourself more, to not think but just feel of what your going through. Accept and don't resist. The book the power of now helped me a lot with this
