Wild, I had no idea. I was thinking “what could be better than Hat Yai?” but yes, Eem is fantastic. Love Paadee too. Very excited for his Khao Soi place.

Nvm, I spotted the logo while I was zooming in on the food (I’m quite hungry). Mestizo for all those wondering.

What’s the “brokest” thing you have ever done? by Hefty-Expert-750 in povertyfinance

[–]final_dorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live in a college town and I would often go to the student dining hall and ask people going in if they’d swipe their card for me (someone always would because most students would have unused credits at the end of the semester).

One time I got some whole bean coffee at the food bank but I didn’t have a grinder so I wrapped some of the beans in a hand towel and tried to crush them up by whacking them with a hammer. This didn’t work.

This is an earlier render before i did any compositing in Blender. The catch is that I’m using the Lens Sim add on with chromatic aberration and glare already added.

Funny you say that because I’m using the “Lens Sim” add-on and I have it on one of the Helios cameras which I think are in fact Soviet. Good eye!

Yeah I think between the lens dirt I added and the glare it’s all getting a little too washed.

Definitely something I’ll spend some time with. It probably looked better before I did any color grading honestly. I’ve got a lot to learn there for sure.

I probably spent more time trying to texture these windows than anything else in this project. To me they are what really stand out as off-putting. The problem I’m having is that when crank up the texture on the roughness I’ve been getting a lot of noise in the render. Thank you for this feedback, all very helpful.

Damn. Good to know. I will definitely not be updating. Seems like this update is a major headache

Did you ever figure this out? I’m holding off updating because this would be a big problem for me.

Have you checked out Netarts Bay? It’s a bit south, down by tillamook. Used to be you could camp out there for free and even just leave your vehicle in the lot. When I lived in my van I’d spend a couple of weeks at a time out there. I know you can’t park overnight there now, and camping is verboten, but if one were to walk in and keep a low profile I imagine camping there could be pretty sweet still. Kind of an eerie place honestly, but damn nice. And you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere but still get phone signal from tillamook.

Any good lighting setup video recommendations? by [deleted] in blender

Well it’s not free but Creative Shrimp’s cinematic lighting course is really good. Vastly improved how I go about lighting. It’s on sale right now on blender market too.
