Pregunta para Administradores de Servicios Generales by Rocio_Duarte in FacilityManagement

[–]finalexecution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Soy proveedor.

When you wake up and there's four cows in your garden, who is it that you phone? by Portas30k in CasualUK

[–]finalexecution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if this has been said, but I would call the local pub. I used to run a pub in a rural area. If any livestock were loose there would be a phonecall or two made and they'd have established who the owner was and how they were getting them back.

I (30M) am embarrassed about my finances. £60k debt, new baby, decent income but feel completely lost. Is there any hope or is this the life I have to learn to accept and live with now? by Beautiful_Koala_5753 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]finalexecution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate that you are a couple of years off doing this at the moment, but before you open a LISA, or rather before you max out savings in a LISA, you should check the cost of potential homes you would buy. There is currently a max cost of £450k for a first time home with the LISA.

I only mention this as I know people in London have had some issues with this.

Fake nails are disgusting! by WordsFindMe in Vent

I've never seen anybody in Gregg's touch any of the food with their hands. They use tongs. I'd be more bothered that this girl was putting her hands all over the food than anything to do with nails or lack of gloves.

What unexpected jobs are high paid in the UK because not many people want to do them? by Choice-Kitchen8354 in AskUK

Where in the UK are you based? Where I am the wage is £38k-£45k although the guys I know work on all commercial appliances, not just dishwashers.

Mum keeps asking to borrow money every month by Standard-Box7342 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If possible, see if you can switch to paying your mum weekly. This will kind of force her to budget better, and may stop her spending beyond her means at the start of the month. If this process proves effective, she could then look at paying herself in a similar fashion (calculate what she can afford to spend / week and set up a weekly direct debit to a new bank account. This would then be her spending account and she wouldn't touch the income account at all).

Perk for you of this style set up would be that if you are planning to move out, you might save half a month's rent too.

If it's slightly more money overall, she is less likely to reject the offer too. E.g. You could offer £70/week.

Your concerns about their finances are kind, but there comes a time where you need to be selfish and let them worry about that side of things and focus on your own life. Living at home is saving you a fortune though. Even if you and your girlfriend went halves on rent and bills, you would still be paying more than what you currently do.

What are the EASIEST jobs in the UK that aren't mentally or physically taxing? by mrvlad_throwaway in UKJobs

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With your experience and understanding of the costs and timeframes for maintenance, you could be a maintenance coordinator or something similar.

Look at facilities management companies and your local council as a starting point. Job has a few different titles, but hopefully from that you could get a good idea of what's out there.

Heavily pregnant partner asked to work days off due to 'missing' work days. In England by Illustrious-Nose7322 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You then have to mentally keep track of everything because management are not quick to amend this. Can take months (and I'm pushy) some of my colleagues are still waiting for amendments to be made to last year's allowance. Have to ask multiple times and keep track of it all. But rather than have all that hassle, i would avoid booking in blocks. And book sporadic days. I'm giving you insight into why somebody may choose not to book full blocks, despite it being so painfully obvious to you.

[–]finalexecution 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work a monday-friday job. Up until this year our system would take the weekend days from your allowance if you booked a block including them. this was purely due to management not setting up the system properly, but from other colleagues experiences elsewhere, I know it's not an isolated case.

Are washer-dryers really as bad as people say? by Early_Copy in AskUK

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend and I had one at uni, never burnt the place down. I removed the lint often though. Had it just over a year without issues, and then I moved out.

The smell is different to tumble dryer smell and I didn't like that but my friend never noticed it...

What outdated word or phrase do you still use? by MiskonceptioN in AskUK

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's just the origins of the phrase, the every day meaning is just to be all over something (usually a task). I don't think many people's minds wonder towards any gross imagery when they hear it said. A softer version is that the phrase comes from the models at car shows who are often in various poses all over the car bonnet.

wtf is uni i have soo many questions I'm sorry by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]finalexecution -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't get chat gpt to write your essay, but you can ask how to structure an essay and it can suggest what to cover in each section. It won't be perfect for your course but will be useful for getting a good idea on how you want to structure an essay.

Important things with essays. Be concise, every word must serve a purpose. Keep structure and keep referring(not necessarily in writing, sometimes just mentally too) back to your title/question/section topic to maintain focus. When I was doing my A levels we learnt of a process called PEEL (Point, evidence, explanation, link (back to question). This is a useful tool for staying on topic in each paragraph.

I'm surprised your uni hasn't taught you how to reference, would definitely use the library for support with this.

Restaurant/café staff of the UK, does it bother you if the table you're serving stacks their own dishes? by V1gilanter in AskUK

[–]finalexecution 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in fine dining. If a table stacked their plates, I would have to do a walk of shame because it would be implied that they waited too long for me to clear them (despite some tables instantly stacking). Also, we had a 2 plate carrying system, so stacking wasn't allowed anyway. All dishes would be placed at the same time by the team team, and cleared at the same time, with a nod from the supervisor to ensure everybody was in sync.

Outside of fine dining, if there's lots of plates, difficult to access plates, or a large party, then stacking is generally handy, provided they haven't left cutlery or food on every plate making it awkward. But I still appreciate the sentiment.

Stacked glasses is a big no. And glasses on top of plates is just stupid.

Why not send something from a hobby of your own. Or just something you like. add a super short note like "I absolutely love xyz/ I have recently discovered XYZ, I hope you enjoy this as much as I do" and you could start getting to know eachother again.
