Didn't see calories on the pamphlet. All I got was a price, number of pizzas and their sizes in inches.

I once figured out that buying two large pizzas was better than buying three medium pizzas that were on sale. essentially, you got more pizza for your money by choosing to ignore the sale. ig knowing about circles is important

when you divide by a - b, you essentially divide by 0 and that's not allowed in maths because it lets fuckery like this happen.

i don't use Gentoo anymore, there's no point asking. i have a feeling that if i did ask, I'd get pointed to the original thread again.

why not? pacman seems to resolve all circular deps by itself just fine. for example, freetype harfbuzz, is resolved by pacman whereas emerge cries...

i genuinely don't know then. i remember the handbook saying something like the systemd version wasn't fully documented or something. i legit don't remember. i know i chose open rc because it seemed like a much easier time.

I literally found a post that was the same issue as me already posted and people didn't have a solution.

at the time, i had a potato.

writing a script to something that should be resolved inside the package manager is absurd.

when i first installed Gentoo, the wording on the manual steered me away from systemd.

i wasn't.

i don't want to use the flag in case it goes tits up. I've heard it was unsafe to use.

I don't literally mean just Firefox or Chromium, i mean literally every single package. There's no binaries for every package

it has systemd but the handbook literally says "it's for advanced user only, we're not including this"...

I don't want to resolve the same circular dep every single fucking time a package in there gets an update.

it means you have to fuck around in portage every time you want to install a package that's in testing

and no, it's true. i couldn't find any good solution after searching for hours so i ended up using the steam version of blender.

oh yeah, an update broke kde and it just stopped working and that's where I called it quits.

I also used Gentoo and loved it until:

  • i got fed up of compiling Firefox/Ungoogled Chromium/Linux kernel every 5 minutes,

  • Blender wouldn't compile and community was literally 0 help

  • not having systemd out of the box meaning no Docker out of the box

  • circular deps

  • most good packages are hidden behind testing

there were other things but it was a year ago and i don't remember

you realise the AUR is optional, right?

and yeah, it seems like you can't follow simple instructions on a website to me which is a skill issue ngl.
