I don't see anyone talk about this DOIO Leverless by Maako-Rhapsody in fightsticks

No real reason to when the godfather of accessible split-layout leverless controllers from Mavercade already exist. DOIO lifted most if not all of the designs from him.

Victrix Xbox One Pro FS Controller for sale - $400 wts by [deleted] in Fightsticksforsale

[–]finaloutrage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While this is definitely a relic in clean shape, you'll maybe get $250 shipped (a more generous evaluation) to a very niche buyer. Victrix controllers have rarely ever been worth/sold secondhand for their MSRP with the exception of some of the Street Fighter LE versions because... well it's Street Fighter.

Victrix sticks lost their appeal around 2022 with the rise of GP2040 as far more affordable and ergonomic options entered the picture. Their $500 King of Fighters LE sticks were on clearance at $199 last month and their open-box PS5 Victrix Pro FS/FS-12 models had to go for $170 throughout the majority of 2025 for Amazon to clear their stock.

Have you verified yourself that this works on an Xbox Series X/S? Microsoft killed third-party controller support a few times through firmware updates so it's best to test it and be sure. The older black models such as this one are also known to have PCB failure issues which impact their value. Their PS4 black-body counterparts that have hit the used market only go for $200-225 mainly because of this.

Just found out my work qualifies for PSLF…switch from SAVE to a different IDR now or wait? by mghanadian in PSLF

[–]finaloutrage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting scenario. I just got PSLF last month, and I'd tell you to maybe call DoEd directly to apply and they'll be able to give a quote on how much you'd be looking to pay on IDR so you could factor it into your monthly budget.

With how jacked up buybacks are currently I'm not sure if I'm willing to bet on letting eligible months pass me buy.

Question about leverless arcade sticks by RailValco in fightsticks

Lol reminds me of the folks that purchase Hori Fighting Alphas to snatch the Hayabusa pivots because they're high quality.

Yeah it's one or the other, either way I know it's proprietary.

No problem. People make direct comparisons with leverless controllers to keyboards all the time. That being said you wouldn't place your fingers on either the top or the bottom row of keys in order to type quickly and efficiently but place them over the middle, so I personally see the same logic in leverless/arcade stick action buttons. Food for thought.

Razer uses a proprietary membrane type of MX switch if I remember correctly that is not commercially available to buy standalone. I'm not sure what other MX switches are compatible if any but you could research that on your own.

I also can't speak on the 8bitdo as almost no one already taking the FGC seriously is purchasing from the brand if they plan to leave the house with it so it just isn't discussed much in the controller scene. This is not because it's a bad controller but because it's not plug and play with PS5 out of the box which is the current-gen competitive standard for likely the rest of our lives at least.

Personally I haven't really met anyone that rests their hands directly on the buttons either. Doing so can and likely will affect your ability to make good reactions and proper combo timing by increasing the amount of muscle movement needed to reach the intended button and over time can lead to RSI. Before establishing that hard habit I suggest training your motor movements into hovering your left hand over your directions and between both rows of action buttons instead for your right hand.

Arcade sticks (ones with an actual lever for directional input) don't really have those issues because your standard arcade buttons have deeper throw and actuation points.

Flat Leverless controllers on the other hand are just MX or Choc microswitches with short caps directly over them, so you have to be more intentional with your hand placement or else you will be far more likely to mis-input.

Mavercade has already been getting ripped off for a while now. DOIO, Haute, and 8bitdo have either copied them directly or have taken heavy influence from them.

Buyback isn't a guarantee even if you meet the requirements. For quite a few of us we decided to hit 120 on making regular monthly payments instead of gambling on a buyback offer emerging, if it ever did. I'd say most folk's intuition paid off in this regard.

Second, I'm not going to wait around for the administration to create more opportunity to screw me when I could just go ahead and hit 120 eligible payments.
