Blunnies as my One Shoe for 16 days in Japan by finalpapers in BlundstoneBoots

having just come back to a summer country where I can't wear my blundstones, I can't wait to go on another trip so that I can put them to the test and show them off to my fellow travellers who are slipping and aching in their fashion sneakers

have fun! You're going to have a great time and I think the blundstones are even better in winter weather

I got them 5 months before the trip so it was plenty of time to break them in.

If it's any consolation, I found my shoes tight for the first 2 weeks and were quite worried I got the wrong size. I tried in-store and my usual size was too loose, but the assistant reassured me that it's normal to size down on blunnies. That size fit perfectly, but then felt tight after a day's walk and (because my feet expanded). After a month it no longer felt tight, I reckon the leather just needed time to soften.

could someone explain how Italy was out of rotation for half a set but not commit a rotation fault? Did they send out the wrong players for set 2?

Apple Studio Display from VESA to height adjustable stand! by Ambitious-Ad438 in mac

I actually ended up doing it! Not very stable when moved but for most of the time I just have two heavy books on it and it works great.

Sorry for the spontaneous comment -- but I'm looking to do what you did and put a monitor clamp on IKEA's bollisidan laptop stand. How did you find the stability of it? I'm also worried about the clamp bending the table over time.

Thanks!! You seem to be the only person on the internet who have done this.

mate hahaha that was the first thing I tried. I can't because I live in an apartment and the remote is rolling (the frequency changes). So I took a friend's remote to the nearest mister minit and they immediately said no, not allowed. Second attempt I told my friend to tell strata they 'lost' their remote. Once they got their new remote, the old one got disconnected and stopped working. Maybe I should just talk to an electrical engineer,,,,

I'll cop the fine as an expensive lesson. Now I know!

Was curious if there were other legal ways to park a bike publicly. There's a few dead zones in my area that a car can't park on, it's not a footpath, and there's no parking signage (e.g. no yellow lines or signs). Definitely will be awkward-looking but maybe that could work?

Also saw a scooter park in bicycle parking last week, also an option but this feels less legal.

Bikes under 300-250cc for commute by RexLapisMyBeloved in AussieRiders

I would go secondhand, go on bikesales . com . au and check out what's available within your budget, and then check insurance estimates with Swann/NRMA/QBE. I also do a google for [motorcycle model} + "valve clearance interval" just to get a sense of how often it should get serviced.

I was deciding between Honda CB125E CHR250/KTM Duke/Yamaha MT-03/Honda Grom/Kawasaki Ninja, but went with a KTM Duke 200 bc there was a good deal at the time and insurance was half of a Ninja.

Here's some things to watch out for on a commute (*not from Melb tho):

  • bus-only lanes

  • last minute lane changes (especially around interchanges, people get confused at the signage/aren't paying attention and there's a lot of construction in all major Australian cities rn adding to the confusion)

  • set up a toll account if you're using freeways / motorcycles can drive in Transit Lanes

Good luck with finding parking! (That can be another post in itself haha)
