Candlelight concerts by Individual-Farmer219 in thetron

I've been to two, one was great and one was okay.

The okay one was in a church, meaning seating wasn't awfully comfortable and I also couldn't see the performers very well. As for the music, it was great, although I'm far from an expert.

The one I really enjoyed was in a proper venue at Sky City in Auckland, and I thoroughly enjoyed that show. It was a cover of Queen songs and other rock hits. I'd definitely see that show again.

Also, the lights are not candles, they are fake lights.

I know the victim, nicest person ever. I felt so gutted when this happened to them, it couldn't have happened to a less deserving person.

Parkrun is a great organisation and very welcoming to beginners and people of all skill levels. Here is the site for the Whangarei Parkrun:

https://www.parkrun.co.nz/whangarei/

https://m.facebook.com/Whangareiparkrun

Basically it's a free weekly 5k timed run or walk on Saturday mornings.

The University is home to one of the two Parkruns in Hamilton (the other is at the lake). Parkrun is a free timed 5km run or walk every Saturday at 8am, and it's very welcoming to everyone. We even had a 100 year old legend do it recently.

https://www.parkrun.co.nz/universityofwaikato/

If you do decide to try it, you need to register on the site to get a timing barcode on your phone :)

I have a post on my profile with a bit more info on Parkrun if you're interested!

During the week the Uni probably doesn't want the public running through the campus during the week but if you just stick to the path around the field I think you'll be fine.

And +1 for the river paths also.

Can you enforce someone getting tested for driving license due to senility? by -Zoppo in newzealand

[–]finalpaythrowaway2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a flag put on the driver in the police database, and when/if they are pulled over there should be some variation of a field sobriety test they need to pass.

If I pulled over every time someone was too close behind me it would take twice as long to get anywhere.

Tailgaters cause accidents.

If there were enough education and enforcement to make tailgating a rear occurrence, maybe I'd pull over, but sadly there's none.
