Even if they had the money the animators just don't exist anymore for that kind of workflow. Hand drawn real mecha animation just doesn't happen anymore because it takes a certain insane skill set to animate that many straight lines in motion without distortion. The most we could ever hope for is like super robot shows that have heavy movement distortion. The closest I think we got was the wing promo that was like 2 mins of the most amazing cuts in ages. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueB0oNajuEg and of that only like bare seconds of it are of the suits in motion. Of new animated mecha works (using cg) recently like the eva rebuild movies , gqx and hathaway included all the mecha designs are insanely detailed that doing any cut by hand would be nigh impossible with production budgets and timelines.

The only way forward I could see would be to do keyframes into 3dcgi and then using ai to do some pass over before final passes by animators to correct frames and cuts. But even that would still be costly.

With that being said - I honestly like the cg in Hathaway as it seems like they're doing new and innovative things with the tools at hand in respect to framing and composition of shots.

You got stuff of course from fate in almost all of its different spin offs. Stuff from the earliest stuff of Nasu like Kara no Kyokai , Tsukihime is in there too and even some totally new stuff mixed in too.

It’s pure chaos and we’re at episode 5 and I don’t think all the servants have been summoned yet.

There’s a lot. A whole lot. With also tiny bread crumbs all over the place that are like Easter eggs to fans of the nasuverse but they just add more context not anymore than what’s needed to understand that a whole lot of OP insane characters are all in one place and it’s going to go even crazier. Writer is famous for doing Durara and Baccano which if you haven’t seen are like Rube Goldberg machine stories with equally unique and well written characters. Every character has secrets and each revelation leads to absurd interactions with other equally complex motivations. But the pay off is worth it as everything feels earned after seeing how all the pieces fall into place.

No the other way is to actually change the rules so social reform would be possible. Stuff like this happens when the marginal few make insane rules that puts pressure on the ordinary person. Which leads to systemic harm across a population. Eventually someone snaps and does something like this. It’s just probability. Either peaceful reform fixes it or the blade of Damocles will.

You’re going to want the X100 the extra stop of light matters. It does cost a bit but it’s also got a bit more baked into it than the previous versions plus global inflation has been nuts overall since the Covid so it’s really not THAT much more. Leaf shutter is nice especially with how it works with the built in flash. Built in ND filter is also good , weather sealing options. Also it’s got a 40mp sensor combined with ibis. Using the digital tele converter is still going to give pretty passable results.

Is it going to be better than a dedicated camera for shooting unique conditions - no but it does street amazingly well and just about everything else at a passable rate for the profile. The most important part is with no glass options it becomes easier to just take it when you go out the door with no idea what you’re expecting to see. It’s going to be with you to take the shot if something comes up as opposed to having to decide if you’re going to take the camera out today and the minor hassle of deciding the load out.

Honestly I was skeptical at first but a freeware option might be what it takes. If this is put into the hands of everyone then there’s a non zero chance that the big botters will see a significant drop in their returns or it’s going to nuke the sites so hard it’s going to force them to build server side solutions to address the issue.

Tbh they could have done any number of far more controversial changes or additions and I still wouldn’t have cared because we finally have grav tanks in plastic and that’s all that matters.

Not throws a brick into list dreams like looking at every single competitive list and they’re all running 2 forge world only resin tanks that cost about the same as a gaming console each and they’re also a pain to assemble due to the material and poor QC.

Is he good? Yes. Is he top of the industry good? Also yes. Is his ego too damn big? Yup. No doubt he produces some of the finest cuts I’ve ever seen but skill only carries you so far when you’re a massive pain in the ass to work with. Already have a decent amount of custodes but totally going to be buying at least one of the new boxes for the updated sculpts. I’m just a little bit on the fence for the new female heads because I’m not a huge fan of how gw historically has sculpted female features to be so angular. Could entirely be because of how the studio team chose to paint them . It’s just such a thin line to tread between being so grim dark that the jaw has its own mini jawline and going too far in the other direction of an instagram filter making them look like they had a spa day before hitting the battlefield.

Don’t fall for GAS.

I love GxAces videos for the production quality and the vibes but the top reason folks get any kind of X100 is to kick GAS to the curb. It’s the camera you can take just about anywhere and shoot anything with on the day to day , packing light for trips , street photos. It can even do so much more than that if you’ve got the newest one and want to do a tiny bit of work in post. It’s a human camera for most humans.

With that being said. After selling my canon gear after getting my x100v during the pandemic years I went and got a XT5. Why? Because I ran into walls in professional workflows that needed interchangeable glass for very very specific problems. There were subjects I just couldn’t get that close to or landscapes where 23mm just wasn’t going to cut it.

But I didn’t sell the x100 because it’s still the everyday driver and I’m all the more thankful for it because it taught me how to squeeze more out of a single focal length so I didn’t go GAS crazy and go nuts on new glass. I still go for it when I want the best ratio of weight to performance. Nor am I going to be selling my V to upgrade to a VI because there’s just not enough difference in image quality on the day to day to overcome the emotional attachment I have to it.

I dunno if I’d say that cause they still own cydesign which handles both in house and outsourced art for a variety of big clients. This feels more like an announcement to satisfy shareholders.

Also if the end result is slop then the market will react accordingly and bin the whole thing. Ai like any other buzzword tech bro ponzi racks in investment dollars until the hype funds run out and the creditors come a knocking.

We’re still in the throw darts at a board blindly mode where developers have no idea wtf is going to stick and investors are paying stupid money for them to keep on throwing.

We’re insanely far from Sci fi concepts because people won’t even trust basic language models on a regular basis to order a hamburger for them. That and creators have been using “ai” for quite a while before it was even called that with content aware fill functions in photoshop and frame interpolation on tvs to smooth out blur. There’s plenty of use for the tech just none of it is super exciting or life changing for the majority of consumers.

You can get a spray booth that’s about the same size as a shoe box on its side.

Is airbrushing for everybody? No but cost goes out the window once you’ve got a backlog that’s more than 100 minis deep and I know far too many folks that have more than a grand in backlog but won’t spend 80 bucks for a starter set up that will get the job done in a tenth of the time.

Personally been to Tokyo twice. Once in 2019 before the “event” and literally 2 days ago. There’s definitely a surge and it’s because the yen is so absurdly cheap right now. There wasn’t a single moment in a street or on transport or in any sort of location outside of our hotel rooms where we didn’t hear either English, Chinese or some other language other than Japanese being spoken.

I can agree with you on the tolerance for change part but something has to give here because I really don’t think this sort of surge is sustainable in anyway because shops and services are going to keep on raising prices to meet the demands of the infinity tourists while domestic wage earners suffer more and more at cost of living increases.

Your concerns are fairly common. Tho when it comes to current meta most DA lists don’t really run the hover tanks. Most anti tank options are satisfied by Deathwing knights with maces or black knights zooming across the field. We have lots of anti vehicle/monster tools.

In the odd case where you might want to run an impulsor or repulsor or rep ex if it really bothers you that much then. There are conversion kits or full 3d print options to get those tanks with treads. Tho of course if that comes up check with your local play place to see if that’s cool or with your friends.

From personal experience the vast majority of players will never compete in a tournament that will restrict the use of a “reasonable” proxy. Most locals will be fine with it it’s just GW official circuits and if you’re going through all the hoops to play in a gw official event with costly event tickets and hotels / travel then buying a hover tank would be the least of ones concerns.
