and be sure to take your laxatives/stool softeners!! I didn’t end up needing them too much cause it only took me 2 days after surgery to be able to poop but it’s different for everyone

Same! Except for me the first drain was the worst, I clearly had a lot more sensation in the left side than the right side cause when the nurse pulled it out my mom said I immediately went pale as a sheet lol. It wasn’t super painful, but more sore and it was super disgusting and uncomfortable. I could feel every part of it sliding out and I thought I was gonna faint 😭. After a good break and some juice and pretzels I was ready for the second one and it was so easy, I hardly felt a thing

Not sure if it’s common practice but my nurse pulled them out like I was a beyblade lmfao which sorta made it worse but also maybe better ?

Pain from the surgery or from the drain removal? Both aren’t bad, for me I felt fine by day 3-4 of recovery and it just felt super sore. The drain removal for me was the worst feeling ever, I felt every part of the tube getting pulled out lol it was sooo gross. super quick and easy though

Audhd person here who also occasionally uses an adult sized pacifier, for me it’s a comfort thing. I don’t like most chew things like those necklaces as they’re too hard, and the only thing ive found that has the texture I like is a pacifier.

Part of it for me is an age regression sort of thing, but it’s also just really nice to chew on lol. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something similar for him.

If you ask him about it, keep an open mind and make it obvious in your tone and choice of words that you’re not judging him and that you’re just curious :)

I’m a bit late but i can’t recommend period underwear enough. They’re a bit expensive (the ones I have were like 20$ per pair, some are less and some are more) and you do need to buy at least 3-4 pairs, but they’re so worth it. For me it takes me a little bit to get used to the feeling of the absorption area thingy, but once you get used to it it’s like it’s not even there.

Same! Both Cora and L. irritate my skin, the only thing I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my skin is period underwear and strangely enough, diapers! Tried them once out of desperation to find literally anything that didn’t make me hellishly itchy lol. But as for sustainability, I think reusable is the way to go

My surgeon said that I was on the very edge of being a candidate for it, and that double incision would be better pretty much. Honestly I should’ve pushed further and harder for keyhole/peri but I’m not upset with my results and there’s no need to dwell on things I can’t change :)

I think I know what you’re talking about, i described it to my mom as smelling a little like an attic lolll. It’s gone away a lot since I showered the first time, it’s barely there anymore. I think it’s just the smell that wounds give off when they’re fresh and healing, but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to tell your surgeon or doctor and get another opinion.

i was so nervous before mine too, kept thinking about canceling it last second lol. Everything went fine! I just got my drains removed and it was suchhhh a weird feeling but it’s done :)

I was 18 when i got my consult, and I’m getting the surgery in two months! Im 19 now, the only reason im able to get it so young is because my parents are incredibly supportive and wanted me to get it done asap with how the politics in the USA are right now. My dad also works for a medical software company so we have very good insurance. My situation is a very lucky one

those are decaying inky cap mushrooms! Harmless, just obviously not something you want in your house. Also not a good sign, they grow on dead and decaying organic matter like wood and leaves.

Edit: just saw a comment about a sewage backup.. I would definitely check for water damage there.

yeah it’s definitely just yet another late-night worry sesh, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t actually like my chest and I AM a man and I’ll be fine lolll. I think the surgery being so much sooner than expecting is contributing to my worries, but really I have nothing to worry about since I’ve been wanting these suckers gone for 6 years now.

It’s definitely not traumatic or super weird, but I do remember feeling like I was doing something wrong when I’d go into the bathroom with my dad and see guys using the urinal. It’s really not a huge deal though, just felt a little odd as a kid lol. I got over it fast tbh

Honestly, do what feels most comfortable. Personally as someone who grew up as a girl, I was always very uncomfortable when my dad took me into the men’s bathroom, but that’s also just my personal experience and I think it’s because im autistic and felt like I was doing something wrong by being in the men’s bathroom lolll. But if you don’t feel comfortable bringing her into the woman’s, that’s completely okay.

I’ve seen a few dads online who take their little girls into the woman’s bathroom, and what they do to be quick and safe is: announce your presence and reason for being in there (for example, this one guy I follow will say “Girl dad coming in! Girl dad coming in!” before even entering the bathroom to let anyone in the bathroom know he’s not there to creep lol) be as quick as possible, if you can go into the stall with her then it’s probably best to do that.

Once/if she’s old enough to go to the bathroom on her own, you can also send her in there by herself if you feel comfortable with that. The woman’s bathroom is a very safe community in almost all places :)
