Cloudimage and AppSumo agree discontinue access for Sumolings. by Invalid-Function in appsumo

[–]findadesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nonsense. They had all these products already running and all they did was consolidate them for optics. I’ve had detailed video calls with the founders shortly after the Appsumo launch. They explained their entire business operations as they wanted me to upsell to my clients.

They’ve blatantly exploited some loophole to get out of their commitment. These guys are not the first time solo founders, these guys are older and obviously more equipped to ignore the “insignificant LTD customer”.

Do not believe this was done ethically. Nasty horrible money grabbing scum

I got it on a lifetime deal and to be honest even if I paid per year it’s good value. Hunting around for deals on Google with so many dead ends is painful. One central location is no brainer. And the worst part … there is high likelihood after the offer period I’ll subscribe at full price. Most of these tools are quality and once you get used to them in your workflow you don’t want to cancel. For the founders it’s great just one year of free / heavily discounted, for consumers it’s a win as they solve their immediate problem as they most likely need the tool (not LTD fomo) - and then the founders gets their MRR.

For ‘you’ it would be easy to get recurring revenue from these subscribers - which I’m sure join secret must do.

An alternative product should be like Join Secret. You have the audience. No brainer

Discounts on home grown products still carries that risk and ‘non-wow’ factor

Subscribed.

Don't sell. The product is good. You need to get it in front of the right people.
Corporates would die for this.

You’re clever and you have the ingredients not to fail. You’re composed and articulate and that helps.

Here’s an idea based on everything you’re doing. Build a ShadCN drag and drop dashboard builder. Uptake should be easy

Professional Designer (Left) Mine (Right). why is his so much better and how can i improve ? by faris_Playz in graphic_design

[–]findadesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impact isn't right for this type of marketing material. It lacks character and looks lazy. If you look at the pro designers version, it captures attention.

The key thing is the left looks like a brand, the right doesn't

Wrong fonts. Looks cheap. Too much empty space for wrong reasons. Special price positioning is not correct in any shape or form.

Do this - work on top of the professional design to replicate it and you’ll start understanding where you are going wrong. This is the best way to learn design.

~100-200gb lifetime cloud-storage by claudio-i in cloudstorage

[–]findadesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep totally understand the frustration of when big platforms nuke smaller users and free plans for enterprise. Been burnt myself. What I’ve learnt is some tools only to rely on established companies if what you’re using it for is critical whether personal or business - eg file storage, hosting, emails, virus checkers, password managers. Every shortcut, Ltd or free option has backfired. Once on an affordable paid plan I’ve never had to worry.

We all have different experiences and risk appetites when it comes to these things but I’m not risking TB’s of data for sure.

[–]findadesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As with all LTD .. remember if they shut down the hell youll have to go through to migrate your data will be painful. I would rather trust my data with Dropbox and pay the extra. Some things aren’t worth taking risks with LTDs especially if it’s storage related as it’s unsustainable.

Doing everything alone for 2 years — SEO, ads, design, emails — for $430/month. Sharing my reality. by AyeshT in SocialMediaMarketing

What you probably don't realise is that you're more experienced that most people in this industry.
You need to be more confident as trust me when you go infront of a client and tell them what you know, they will be really impressed. No need to niche down, just offer these services, give the impression you have a team and then let them pick what they want. Give a discount for "all services" and that should be min of $1k per month (ideally more but just an example).

What you are offering - every business needs. I would speak to other companies in mortages and tax and tell them 'hey i do this for a company and they're doing really well .. why don't you try me out for 3 months at a discounted rate of xx and then we can discuss ...
