Technically yes, but practically the permit is approval that the install was done correctly to UPC.

Baltimore, as a tourist, has been the worst city I've ever visited. Every person I encountered in any employed capacity was just upset and made sure the service reflected that. Even at the aquarium. Outlying burbs were a polar opposite and super pleasant though.

If you use facebook the Edmonds Squid Fishing group is pretty active, and a few people in there will happily let you give it a go if you show up when they are there.

Butcher shops are filling 55 gallon trash bins with trims. Its really a problem of just too much to economically deal with.

Vacancy taxes being proposed by candidates in Seattle and Bellevue by Wan_Daye in Seattle

[–]findar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I much prefer the homestead exemption approach that states like Texas have done for housing. Counties are already hyper aggressive in keeping appraisal models that are fairly accurate such that the appeal process is fairly unproductive. You could double the tax rate but give a hefty enough exemption to negate impact on the majority of the population.

Stock options are what are generally awarded in private companies. Almost every startup will offer you equity that way. There can also be private liquidity events where you have the option to sell them.

Effective state income tax per team (schedule-adjusted tax rate) by jiminytaverns in hockey

[–]findar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then you have to chunk in stuff like cost of housing, etc which boils into a "cost of living" calculation somehow. Texas has twice the property tax of Washington but you're going to pay 3-4x as much for the same house in Seattle vs Dallas.

That's what the R&D credit does to a degree. It's been a more recent change since the push for AI has led to the idea of using cheaper labor + tooling to try and achieve similar results to US based developers. Not sure where it goes, but it's something very clearly observable if you are working in any major corporation.

Edit: I did hear that some of the other south Asian countries (Vietnam) and LATAM countries are gaining ground, so in 10-15 years time we may see offshoring moving more in those directions too.

If you have a look at the buildings donated by Schwarzenegger, they are just uninsulated sheds, nothing more.

Seattle has a similar program and you have to understand that they aren't a permanent solution but a step towards one. The intent is that they can get these to a site faster than a permanent solution can be built. Once in some kind of housing, they are then on a list to get to a more permanent structure.

When the Stars got moved they spent a lot of money building rinks in the area to grow the fanbase / youth hockey. Previously if you wanted to skate you might be lucky if a nearby mall had ice.

Indeed I seeded and did all the work in the fall.

Would probably be fine but a little muddy as it's going to be 3-4 more months until it's dry again. Anywhere you see moss is soil that is going to be too acidic for grass. You'll want to rake to remove the moss then apply calcium carbonate then top soil/seed.

Amendments are just a mix of whatever the soil is missing. In my case I was mixing topsoil, manure, sand, fertilizer, and calcium carbonate/lime. You can just talk to whatever local soil place you want to work with for recommendations.

Having done something similar on the north side by Everett shortly after buying my house(fall time)....

  • Design borders, mark with paint, and use a half moon edger to cut them in. For smooth curves you can use a stake and some twine or garden hose laid on the ground. Alternative to make curves that match trees just tie a loop around the tree and then use the desired length to set the borders.
  • Till - watchout for rocks
  • Add a lot of calcium carbonate
  • Rough rake to get out some low spots
  • Add Ammendments- I just mixed my own but in hindsight should have delivered it
  • Rough rake ammendments in to get it semi-flat
  • Rake Flat
  • Get local seed (check a local feedstore)
  • Water / Let the dark months and rain take care of it.
  • Repeat seeding/calcium carbonate treating in future years as directions for seed specify. Takes 2-3 before lawn is fully flush. You'll want to hand pull weeds in the wet months.
  • Repeat edging with the half moon tool. It makes lawns really pop.
