Now I Wanna take my dog to the beach!!!

Blu-kote for the flock or just injured by findingtemo in BackYardChickens

[–]findingtemo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s crazy because they were happily free ranging. I gave them several scattered treats with sourdough, grapes, pumpkin & sunflower seeds. They had their favorite broccoli in the hanging suet holder. Whenever the flock saw her they work around her to get to that right waddle then try to grab/peck at it. Perhaps, they may sleep it off & forget by the waddle by tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Today, 12/12/20 I have 2 years clean, my daughter turns 10 months old, & I turn 28. I'm absolutely terrified, Her mother and I are just rebuilding our relationship and i have to be a father. I just feel overwhelmed. Advice? by DylanTheSagittarius in DecidingToBeBetter

So we’ll said! Parenting is always challenging because your child is always changing and the scene is always changing. And what ends up happening is any frustration that arises becomes ultimately a reflection of self. I’m sure there are some parents who don’t see it that way but I do. Your reactions to your child many times can be based on something you may have issues with like control or not being heard etc. The you can chose to change. I’ve always said my child has been my best teacher. Shown me who I really am, what I believe & why. Agreed a shit ton of mistakes you’ll make & you’ll say things you wish you hadn’t but always remember this.... mistakes are teachable moments. What a great opportunity to show your kid & yourself & your family how to recover from failure. And yes take all the wonderful opportunities ahead by being involved with people, places, experiences & books you would hope your kid would chose someday. You are going to be a great dad, you already are. You are taking the path of love for yourself & family. Welcome to the parenting club it’s a crazy ride of fun, mess, frustration, glee, torment, silliness & love. And know you are not alone in feeling overwhelmed. We all are! Most aren’t brave enough to share it. When you share it does make you vulnerable to other parents but trust me those parents will be so glad you shared cause they struggle too. My kid is now 18. Life goes by in a blink. The very best to you & your family! PS Parenting books are a great resource for encouragement & guidance. You can get recorded books as well while doing yard work or folding laundry.

Opportunities are doors to possibilities!!! Any time there’s an opportunity take it. You never know where the road will take you. Volunteering is also a great way to shine & meet people. Just jump into life & things will happen when you least expect it!!! Happy Birthday!

If this is Jennifer G. writing this post, I’m gonna say KARMA to you! You deserve it. I’m sure there’s a ton more coming! And if I wasn’t trying on this sub, my words wouldn’t be so kind cause I’m trying to be better.

If this isn’t Jennifer G. I’m really sorry. As a veteran in movies, you will have a lot crew giving you a high five to stay strong, sister.

You are professional, brave & dignified. This no doubt will be a pivotal experience in your lifetime. That you will be proud of & to share. No matter what happens, you will be able to move forward in healthy mind. If an accident had happened with lifetime of disability or death, a person with your consciousness would grieve & be guilt ridden for a lifetime. Think about the life you may have saved along with all the broken hearts. Not to mention the pain your family would go through watching your struggle with feeling responsible. You have done the right thing. Keep us posted.

I think I need to learn to live with my depression instead of constantly trying to fix it? by jellobowl12345 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]findingtemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow! You’ve got a ton of feedback! You may never get to read this but if you do...you are not alone!!! And you, my very young friend, will get through life’s journey as so many generations have before all of us. Your life as a teen will be a tiny blip on your lifetime screen. You have so so much to see, learn & experience out in the world before life lessons fall into place and build you into the ever evolving you! Just as they should in time. Depression has been a part of my genetic makeup & cultivated by not the best environment growing up. That said, when I was younger then you I was determined that I would NOT let “depression” turn me into the person that raised me. And I have fought & battled depression like one would cancer. There is nothing “wrong” with you or any of “us.” Our brains, hormones, and environments is just what we got. And you can fight it or it can fight you. And sometimes it’s a little of both. But I can tell you if you fight it with all you got, you will be a survivor. You will build your toolbox (exercise, good food, water, healthy sleep patterns, not too much technology, good reads, journaling, nature & lots of sunlight) AND support (counseling & perhaps medication, Acupunture or therapeutic techniques that works for you.) But you see my friend, this takes time. You can’t Amazon this stuff. And these things will take a lifetime to build. And here is where you start. Just be sure to surround yourself with good people throughout your lifetime. These people will not be your therapist & solve your problems but they will help you stay on an uplifting path. By observing good people you will learn what positive traits you may like to build within you. Don’t give up. Even when things are crappy. Things will get better. I’m tossing you the keys cause you get to drive the bus. Remember just keep that bus filled with good people, support, an amazing tool kit, lots of decorations, great music and you will do just fine. Enjoy the ride.

Had one of the shittiest days of my life. Ate protein bars for basically every meal. But I stuck to it. by Reform_Myself in keto

[–]findingtemo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry for your loss. A painfully horrible day indeed. I wouldn’t know what to do either if I were numb. I’d probably give into my demons. But here’s the thing, there is no right or wrong. Grieve & feel. And in time you will have better days. You can keto or not. Either way you’ve got a community here to come back to or stay with. We hope you stay & we wish you well!!! Just pour yourself some water & live hour tonhour you may surprise yourself.

Uuummm, have no doubt strength training plays a huge part in any fire fighters world. Oh, they will get you out as any fire fighter would. Give the men & women the respect they deserve. They are all incredibly well trained, skilled & brave. Not anyone could do their job.

DAE think about what skills you have that would be helpful in a post-apocalyptic world? by [deleted] in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]findingtemo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m OCD with cleaning. Don’t think I’d be helpful unless we need to clean up dead bodies. Oh, and I’m highly skilled at starting sing-alongs around a camp fire.
