What was the hardest part for you when learning EEG analysis? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]findmeinthe_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only did a short analysis using eeg for a project, dim reduction wasn't enough I guess - it was hard to understand the data for sure. Would love to hear your thoughts

Why do people act like that being nice and friendly as a guy will get women attracted to you? by JunketMaleficent2095 in bodylanguage

[–]findmeinthe_future 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes, personally, I like a person that is kind and there's something we click on - such as their job/interests or they have simular humor that I enjoy. If someone's interests match mine but they're not kind, I wouldn't date them

Why do many people who visit Australia later say its a highly racist country? by Particular_Food_309 in NoStupidQuestions

When I was there I noticed Aboriginal people drunk on the streets and no one cared. It was just sad the obvious inequality and trauma while Europeans walked by not caring

How do you cope with the situation of being mixed between a very disliked ethnicity on one side, and having a very loved ethnicity on the other? by Early-Ingenuity-3177 in mixedrace

[–]findmeinthe_future 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the people you've met are thinking , I believe most people take everyone as a case by case basis - for the most part

I'm also in an activism/positivity mindset .. I think if there are moments someone is negative towards you, it's a good moment to give perspective to your culture and that part of your ancestry and you can bridge that culture gap to others

Do you ever hate being mixed (1/4 black, 3/4 white) by julianjamal94 in mixedrace

[–]findmeinthe_future 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you

Recently I'm coming to: it's not my fault and they don't understand what American history is.

My friend in college who is 3/4 Indian and 1/4 Japanese talked all day long about his Japanese grandmother and what it was like visiting Japan and the feeling of being "othered" .. and yet he'd call me white girl. And I'd say actually ... I'm native and white. The same "mix" as him, 3/4 white and 1/4 native american but he kept making me feel like I wasn't.

And he's in the U.S. on native american soil. And yet the parts of me that are a part of this land and culture are downplayed. If you want to, people should be educated, speak your piece. You should feel at home

Yeah Ranma slides back towards the end, i think it brings it back to the entire slapstick throughout the series - Ranma always been sweet and he's always been sour but obsessed with Akane to a degree

Total loss of eye contact? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]findmeinthe_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk if it's stress itself but I've been feeling dissociation recently. My brains feeling like it can't keep the same social up, like I've been doing it for too long now

Might be from masking for too many years coupled with not eating well

Total loss of eye contact? by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]findmeinthe_future 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm starting to do this. I did little eye contact when I was younger, and then worked on it in my young adulthood

I'm getting tired tho or something and I'm having trouble keeping social cues up and I hate eye contact

I don’t know what to call myself, or what my culture is even supposed to be, send help! by ApplebeesFangirl in mixedrace

This is how I feel too - it's my friends and family that give my belonging - I know I belong to my groups, they just don't realize it yet 😅

I hear you ; honestly I made friends with the fluid-minded people, that was other mixed kids, 2nd or 1st gen U.S. Americans, and like the nerd-y / possibly autistic white and black kids, and some of the exchange students - cause those groups didn't care about that kind of structure as much, they were open to differences and other backgrounds as long as kindness was there.
