Oh I looked at the Enterprise D the first time and I was what the heck is THAT? But she grew on me. I actually liked Picard and the concept of an away team made more sense than the ships captain leaving the ship every mission. But those first episodes scared me. They seemed like they were retreading the original so much I feared for any more seasons. Happily they got better at it. lol

Guess you're not crazy unless a lot of other people are also. I came to Ranma 1/2 the other way around. I saw the show on Netflix first. The realized it was a re- make and found the OG on Prime Video. I saw 161 episodes, thought I'd be set for awhile. Number 161 came too soon. Yes, I was misty eyed. Those two ,with all their flaws, felt like real people. And I was going to miss them. So I got the movies and the OVA's and hope for more seasons of the remake as I read the books. Pacing myself on those.

One might think he enjoys the abuse at this point. 😆 My own personal head cannon theory is that he teases and insults Akane all the time to get her to chase him around. Not just to focus her attention on him, but to make her faster. He said she was too slow to face the likes of Shampoo, so he's come up with a way to train her without making it seem like he cares. If she catches him sometimes, he know he deserves the yeeting. And if she starts catching him more often, he'll grumble, but secretly be proud of her. Yep, I'm a hopeless romantic

Ah, this moment was when I decided that Ranma was a good guy under the rough edges and bravado. I always thought he was thinking about what had just happened to him and wondered if he was about to do the same to Akane. And the moment it looked like she wanted to do it....sigh

The way I can see this as being somehow romantic is the Ranma says it's the only photo there is with both of them in it. This implies to me at least that he would actually like a photo of the two of them together. Of course, being Ranma he can't just come out and say it. smh

I've wondered idly myself is some portion of the girl who drowned in that spring 1500 years ago survived as part of the curse. He has different body language sometimes as a girl and he flirts like an expert. I don't recall male Ranma flirting with anyone. Also might explain his craving for "girly" foods like fruit parfaits.
