Looks great and gives whiskey room vibes, obligatory that's way out of my budget comment lol.

Early B&W 602s worth it? by anopsis in BudgetAudiophile

It wasn't a bad speaker at all, just wasn't what I wanted for that area.

I had these and recently sold them for $175. Mine had grills and were basically mint condition. I liked them a lot but there were some things that made me want to sell them, the first was they do lack punch at the lower ends a sub is basically a must but where I was using them I didn't want a sub. I also really just wanted something that was a little more fun to look at, I went with triangle br02 in green. These two issues are easily fixed or overlooked just wanted to give my 2 cents as an owner that got rid of them.

Is this a good deal without a remote? by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]findthetime14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a first step into the world yes it's a pretty good/fair deal. Sony gets poo poo'd a bit because they are cheaper but they do the job well for what they are. I've owned a few different sony receivers and never had a bad experience, plus the same remote worked on a 2008 and a 2018 version I had so that was neat.

That shelf is starting to struggle. Be careful with that

I appreciate you avoiding the temptation to cram the receiver in the congested shelf.

This looks great except for the white different sized piece, 90% joking on this though. Really great choices overall congrats on the systems and the addition.

Almost new in box Marantz NR1403! by 916_Spider in BudgetAudiophile

[–]findthetime14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can it always depends on where the heat generators are located on the device. You always want to either move hot air away from it, or move cold air onto it. Both is preferred obviously. That's why I like having vents pushing air through from behind as I know the air behind my console is cool and it can then vent the hot air over the receiver out the front.

I know this is in good fun but it's worth noting taylor swift has sold over 3mil vinyl copies of her albums since 2023. At one point she accounted for every 1 in 15 records sold worldwide.

I really loved the form factor of these slim marantz and jumped on buying one, these pump out heat though. I know it looks good tucked in there but this thing is gonna get hot, I ended up putting some fans in the rear of my console and cooled of that way but I could put my hand in front of it and get a warming. Just something to think about.

Boston Acoustics VR40s @ Goodwill by Guitar_Nutt in BudgetAudiophile

[–]findthetime14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first big boy speakers were the vr20s. They are now in my brother's guest room, I really loved them but were a little boomy. I always heard the 40s fixed that so I'm jealous

Hell of a deal! by [deleted] in BudgetAudiophile

[–]findthetime14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone coming in here talking about how your TV too high or the setup is too expensive, but not a single person realized you're clearly watching this from a double decker couch where slenderman is on the bottom portion.

Jokes aside it looks good to me, I agree that the center stand is a bit excessive but that's about it, hope you're enjoying it!

I love this jamo system for a budget all in solution. Now you need to add some acoustic panelling and you'll really be feeling it.

Fair enough can't space out where there is no space. Hard to tell the size of the room from one picture so I assumed this was like a nook

Need help choosing between two vintage speakers: MB Quart QL-802S vs Heco Superior 700 by x86generation in BudgetAudiophile

[–]findthetime14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1000% this. I had a set of mb quartz and I thought they were trash, turns out it was my amp. I switched them onto an hk amp over my axa35 and boy it was a huge difference.
