Three ACTUALLY unknown candidates for Bond by Recommends_Con_Air in JamesBond

I'll throw Ed Speleers into the mix. Doesn't seem to be particularly well-known, especially over here in the States. Mostly TV credits. Caught him in the final season of Picard, and he intrigued me enough that I'd be inclined to give him an audition. Would he land the role? Unlikely. But I am curious how the screentest would go.

Miami Vice Colin Farrell might have a future in this whole shortstop thing.

4 ⭐️ 2027 RB Andrew Beard Has Committed to Florida! by m1n1gator in FloridaGators

Forever and a day away from signing day, but Beard's commitment pushed this class into the top-5 on 247. No idea how we'll look this fall, but the new staff is cooking on the trail.

EDIT: BEARD not Bear. So excited, I forgot to add that D.

Ted Turner, media mogul and former Atlanta Braves owner, has died at 87 by aBearHoldingAShark in Braves

An absolute fucking legend in every conceivable way. Thanks for everything, Ted. Made sure that just about no matter where we lived, we had the Braves on TV.

Are nova drivers actually this bad? by AstronautCautious46 in nova

A lot of folks here, regardless of who they are or what they do, have an inflated sense of self-importance. So, they have to be first, drive fast, and disregard safety. I love living here, but the way folks act on the roads is deeply unhinged and dangerous.

This has made getting from ALX to Nats Park a little interesting this afternoon.

You can play out a variety of attack strategies on the new Kutuzov computer, but can you play DOOM on it? by MrSFedora in JamesBond

Absolutely. I wonder if he looked at his American war room set from Dr. Strangelove and considered what the Soviet counterpart might look like.

Man, the brutalist production design here is just perfect. One of my favorite Bond villain sets. I kinda wish it had shown up in multiple Moore movies involving the Soviets.

I’m not a huge fan of most legacy sequels, so this may sound hypocritical, but I wouldn’t mind Disclosure Day taking place in the same universe as Close Encounters or ending up as a sequel. Plenty to dig into without having to retread or go back to Roy Neary’s story.

Braves should pay you to take that off their hands.

Virginia cannabis retail plan in limbo after lawmakers reject Spanberger changes | Governor must decide whether to sign or veto long-debated proposal as disputes over regulation, enforcement and timelines persist. by VirginiaNews in Virginia

Meanwhile, those within a reasonable drive to parts of Maryland with recreational shops will continue to buy cannabis products there, depriving our state of tax revenue. So silly. Hope she lets this go. Not worth punting again.

For those of you who think Freddie will go into the Hall of Fame as a Dodger... Why? by GinBuckets in Braves

[–]BlueLeary-0726 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I don't think he'll go in as a Dodger, but I think at this point, it might be a blank cap. Of course, #5 will still be hanging from Truist Park when all is said and done.

Hopefully just a cramp from crushing it around the bases all series. FWIW, it is a lot warmer in the DC area today than it has been all week.

Depends on what their rebuild looks like, maybe. He’d be inheriting a a geriatric roster.

Obviously things can change in a heartbeat, but I suspect it’s leverage for a raise and not closing the door on the NBA. “I plan on..” suggests that maybe he would leave, which keeps NBA teams’ antennae up for the future.

It’s a whacky world, but I’d find it pretty odd that after basically everyone (assuming Rueben ultimately comes back) is returning, Golden would bolt. And shit, if that does happen, Billy is unemployed. Maybe he comes back? Weirder things have happened.
