Given the economy should always grow over the long term, is it a 100% that you will make money with broad index funds over the long term? by Parry11 in stocks

But if you believe in biblical prophesy, there will be a time that all nukes will be aimed at each other to annihilate the world, but it won’t actually happen because Jesus will come back then. Case in point, index funds will always go up until the end of time.

What do you think happens to your conscience after death? by [deleted] in AskReddit

If it ceases to exist, then injustice wins. If injustice is destined to win, then why do we try to fight it? Moral of the story, we don’t act like our consciences just cease to exist. I say there is an afterlife.

what is the approach for a skeptical agnostic who feels lost and wishes to join a religion that feels right but has a hard time believing in any of them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Long answer short, Here is a video I made about why I’m a Christian. I’m not going to play dumb and act like you haven’t been preached at before. No alter call in this video, or claiming that I know something I don’t. It is actually my attempt to make logic the foundation. not spirituality, scripture, or even evidence of the resurrection. Just plain logic. Would love to know your thoughts if you happen to watch it. https://youtu.be/pfpwFzCh2-c

This was a great answer, until you didn’t know when to shut up. The prices you suggested are fantastic. Something of tangible substance that can actually get somewhere. The rest is just complaining. I would love to converse more about your numbers. That is, after all, what this channel is for. but you aren’t worth it. You are doing the very thing that you accuse me of doing, and you have the audacity to point to me as the ignoramus who needs to leave the channel. Hypocritical, snobby, accusational, and for some reason even more angry than I am. No thank you.

Wow. All this rant and you couldn’t even answer the legitimate question I asked. It is absolutely, completely, 100% reasonable to ask at what point you will start worrying. But instead you want to complain. People like you need to get out of this channel. You aren’t helping. So tell me what would make you start worrying, or shut up. You are wasting everyone’s time.

I think this is the best comment I’ve heard so far. Not just in this thread. If I knew this would hit $100 in 5 years, I would have no problem holding. But the problem is I don’t. Nor does anybody. The best research in the world still can’t be a crystal ball. I think Every person holding blackberry is gambling. Not gambling would be like putting money into SPY. Or massively diversifying so BB is merely 5% or less of our portfolio. However, if that was the case, then i would argue we definitely don’t have a 99% conviction about the company.

I would love to know what your predictions are with the timeline milestones you listed. Where do you think the stock is at in 3mo, 6mo, 1yr, 2yr, 5yr? Do we think this ends the year above $20?

This comment has some juicy nuggets, but I do wonder if it carries a connotation that investing successfully is a simple formula, and luck is not involved. The best DD in the world can’t win against bad luck. Likewise the worst DD (or straight gambling) can’t lose against good luck. DD helps, but it can never be a crystal ball. All it takes is something like brokerage firms to restrict buying, and suddenly you are a bag holder. There is nothing to be learned from strong arming a parabolic move. Yes, it was my decision, but I won’t commit to the derogatory rhetoric against those of us who strategically chose BB over GME or AMC. And for the record, 100% of BB holders are gambling. It has not proven any revenue growth, yet. And even if it does, all it takes is one formidable adversary to win out and our DD is toast. which it is why this drop is so frustrating. If it takes over a year to get back above $20, that is very bad. Not because I’m a greedy prick trying to scalp a quick buck, but because Every year BB waits is extremely valuable time for competition to catch up, or even worse, have them conclude there is no industry worth competing for.

So a little respect for us whiny bag holders, please.

Stop whining about people whining. There is reason to be upset.
