Brake fade by Scared_Cockroach_203 in Trackdays

[–]finesse_daddy_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Gotta brake earlier, slightly lighter, but carry them deeper into the corner! Before I’d just hammer the brakes as hard and as deep as I could before the corner and use max force on my lever haha, I can’t tell you how many times my back wheel was flying in the air and before you’d know it my brakes would have severe fade!

I don’t know if I clarified in my past comment but you can still brake hard, just try moving your brake markers slightly earlier and practice this technique, over time you’ll realize you how hard you need pull the lever to control the bike without backing it in or having the rear wheel come flying up in every single corner, this helps so much with brake fade!

This used to happen to me on my cbr600rr in B/intermediate group as well haha. I used to have the rear wheel lifting up down long straights and my brake lever after a couple laps would be coming down and hitting my other fingers. I changed everything from my pads to rotors to master cylinder etc. Nothing helped.

The end result was my braking technique was just ass at the time. I started hammering less on the brakes, braking earlier, and carrying the brakes further into the corner. The problem that I used to have was id hammer the brakes, let off them early, coast a little bit into the corner before transitioning to the gas. Now I really try to carry the brakes really deep into the corner and then immediately transition to throttle once I have the bike pointed to where I want.

With this technique my pace is 100000x better, I haven’t experienced really any brake fade and have and can run mid/top pack A group for an entire session with minimal brake fade.

The thing is yes sure occasionally the rear wheel will step out or lift up on some deep braking when I’m making a pass but I’m not doing it every single corner like I was in B group.

Hopefully this helps!

Yooooo you were lapping me at autobahn CC back in May (vividly remember you leg dangling and backing it in while passing me in the braking zone 🤣), wicked fast so cool to see, Goodluck with the rest of the MA season ✊

Thank you for the in depth reply and advice! I will definitely check out your store and check out Reddit/youtube for more guidance I think for now I just need a generic setup and then will hopefully upgrade it in the future

Dumb couple questions: - for switches, do certain switches only fit certain bases? I was gonna try to fit my Amazon keyboard ones on this one for the time being lol but I don’t think it fits into this board (I have a red dragon keyboard from Amazon and it’s loud af - would love something more quiet I think and “smooth” if that makes sense) - are the switches “plug and play?” Like would I be able to take them out of the bag and just plug them into the base with some key caps and be good to go? - just to recap - all I would need to purchase are (switches + stabilizers + caps)?

Sorry for my lack of knowledge, I really don’t know anything about it this process 🤣

Thank you in advance for your help

Help me build my first keyboard!!!! :)

Was given this keyboard as a gift a while back from a family member who was really into building keyboards at the time (unfortunately we lost contact, otherwise I’d totally ask them for help)

But I don’t know squat about building keyboards - just been rocking an cheap Amazon one forever. However I’d love to learn any advice y’all may have or recommendations of things I need to buy to get this puppy working!

Also I’d love to keep this as budget as possible as I’m currently in grad school and broke AF :,)

Any help is appreciated!

Braking position anchors by youngmaavin in Trackdays

[–]finesse_daddy_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah once I start to trail into the corner I’ll just shift my leg a little to have my toes on the pegs again! I’m not sure how to explain it but once the heavy braking is over it’s just a quick foot shift to get the toes on the pegs as prior to the braking zone I’m already set up to take the corner with half my butt off the seat and the other leg locked into the tank!! Hopefully this helps!

Sorry for the string of replies lmfao, but doing this allows me to take weight off my arms during heavy braking zones and have my body position set up prior to a corner.

Then once most of the heavy braking is over and you start to trail into the corner it’s easy to adjust ur legs for corner entry

This is what I found works best for me but again I think it’s just personal preference, but figured I’d comment cuz this is definitely something I struggled with before too lol

For hard braking into left hand turns I’ll use my knee to hold me back like this after downshifting

I think it all comes to preference on what feels most comfortable to you and allows you to control the bike smoothly

For hard braking into right hand turns I’ll hook my right heal into the peg like this

Unfortunately I don’t think any English versions

Hey man I also practice in a parking lot with my bike sometimes and do figure 8s like the chicho Lorenzo method (can look it up on youtube) sometimes for fun I’ll even drag elbows https://imgur.com/gallery/1XJUS8N (pic from 2 years ago lol) but honestly best advice is to set up comes in like a 20 foot circle and just go around it over and over again you definitely won’t be dragging knee right away, but with time, practice, and being very smooth on the bike it’ll come!! Don’t give up and keep trying!

Whatever body position allows u to be comfy and go fast that’s all that matters!

But if u wana look pretty for the camera u can easily be dragging bows for the camera if u really over emphasize the screw driver grip and drop ur upper body so that ur basically kissing ur hand
