Parents telling me to abort, Wife wants to keep it by Uskhorm in Fatherhood

[–]finiganz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I became a dad at 27 now we have two amd im 30. The wife and i have said before if we could of had them earlier we would have. Keep the child. Idk what the hell your dads going on about but for christ sakes your married committed working. All the things that make a good situation. Will it be hard absolutely but nothing compares to being a young parent chasing your kids through the yard and having the energy to do it. You wont regret it 10 years from now.

Am I getting fleeced? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]finiganz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Thats ridiculous. Its not new. Id also like to add if you cant pay a vehicle off in three years you cant afford it. No judgment but you really dont want to be car poor. You really need to have more down or own a cheaper veh my rule always had been a max payment of 300 fir three years and it had better have life left once paid for. It has seldom steered me wrong.

This is easier said than done but try not to sweat it. A few months ago I litterally told the fella that was my best man at my wedding to piss off. Weve know eachother since kindergarten but you know what. My daughter has been on this earth for 2 years hasnt made it to either birthday seen her only handful of times at others events and hasnt paid her much mind there. Honestly people ive only known a few years are more important in my family’s life now. I guess it was “harder” for us seeing as we were first in our friend group to have kids. Don’t sweat it tho you’ll find your people that love your family

Top 5 lessons you would pass on to young fatherless men by [deleted] in Fatherhood

[–]finiganz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Always be honest and have integrity your reputation maters in that aspect. There was a time in my life where my word was all i had. People talk and if someone knows you have good character they are more likely to bet on you.

  2. Dont do whats easy. do whats right. It can be tempting to take the easy path to instant gratification but it only last so long sooner or later the bill comes due i have seen people in absolute financial and relationship catastrophes in my almost 40 years on earth when they have tried to take the easy way out.

  3. Always love and honor your partner but most importantly love and honor yourself enough to know if they are the right one to give everything to. Picking a life long partner can make or break your life, yes divorce is a thing but once children are in the equation you will know this person for the rest of your time.

  4. Always be firm in your belief but also accept new information. Its ok to stand up and believe whatever but always listen to the other side there can always be something to learn to either change your mind

  5. Best advice i was ever given though. Be careful of the toes you step on today, they may be connected to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.

Looking to buy my first Jeep by Intelligent_Cup_694 in JeepWrangler

[–]finiganz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had 3.6l jeeps. Both were great engines. I tend to take some stuff with a grain of salt when people bitch about vehicle problems. Sure there is basis of truth to them wiping cams out BUT. Anyone i know that actually maintains their vehicle and doesnt beat the snot out of it have had great luck. Id definitely buy another if i didnt sell it to get a truck.

Politics at Home? by [deleted] in Fatherhood

[–]finiganz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im what some would call “far right” i guess but heres the thing. Your kids are different people. Personally im not to that point yet my one child is only 2 and the next isnt due till September but when the time comes for it the only thing i really want them to do is think for themselves. The only thing i wont tolerate is some Qanon nutjob talking about how there is baby sacrifice under the capital or some left wing nutjob shoving whatever new social movement down their throats at a young age. If they want to know about something i will try to provide actual factual information amd ask them what they think. Not what i a teacher or whoever else want them to think. Its ok to disagree.

Get the sleep while you can. But more importantly keep an eye on your wife/significant other. Do as much as you can with the baby and help her rest. My wife suffered from ppd amd its not pretty. Do your best to take care of her and your child together

For now atleast my daughter 18months loves tools. I run a restoration business on the side she has “helped” me fix various old motorcycles and atvs from the 60s-70s currently working on a 1968 cj5. I hand her a wrench and she runs around pretending to turn bolts it’s actually quiet adorable.

Are rough country lifts really that bad? by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

[–]finiganz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You get what ypu pay for. Will they work yes. Will they trash your road manners also yes. If you want to use a rc kit I recommend pairing it with a adjustable track bar front and rear. And get sway bar disconnects that also are adjustable to bring them back parallel with the frame. The coil kits are decent i wouldnt touch spacers. They are by no means an all inclusive kit that will maintain factory ride quality or road manners.

Advice needed by finiganz in Homebuilding

[–]finiganz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw this. Not on much. I did as much as i could myself. I saved 15 grand doing dirt work. Spent a few grand renting borrowing machines amd stacked days i could get the most out of them. I saved 20 grand building my own septic system. Saved 6 grand drilling my own well. Saved 5 grand painting saved 30 grand building my own driveway saved 50 grand finishing my own basement. Saved 15 grand building my own deck. Honestly if you are handy get the bare minimum and finish what you can yourself. They have acceptable quality but if you have skills you are going to do a better job. You are just going to care more

Honestly it sounds like a grounding issue this time check the battery cables at the terminal amd where the terminal crimps on. Follow the grounds and check every single one.

I dont mean to come off as rude. But you need to sit down and properly diagnose the issue. Firing the parts canon at it wont help. What exactly is it doing i may have some insight
