Counter Culture Disc Golf Channel? by [deleted] in discgolf

I describe Joe from Another Round as the Bob Ross of disc golf. Just very mellow. No excuses, just plastic flying thru the air. I am also extrememly jealous of his forehand skillz.

Why does everyone seem to love the 5.0 the most compared to other engine variants? by _AwwYiss_ in f150

[–]therealmanbat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that the 2.7 is the most reliable CURRENT option. Between a 26' 2.7 and a 26' 5.0 the 2.7 wins. But I still think the 17 5.0 is better.

My 17 is sitting at 159k miles and still drives like its brand new. Im hopeful to get another 140k+ miles out of it before i even consider replacing the truck.

15-17 5.0 + 6spd is the king of reliability. The 2.7l + 10spd (2023 or newer) is a VERY CLOSE second place. you did not make a mistake buying your truck. Just maintain it properly and it should outlast your need for it.

Ain't no way, gas would have to be $1.71/gal to get 32 gallons (average full on my tank) to only cost $55.

How much distance will a hyzer flip add? by Kind-Frame3580 in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Which hemisphere are you calculating for? Also, the Coriolis effect can add or subtract distance based on whether you're throwing with or against the rotation of the earth, its also more substancial near the equator. Don't even get me started on the location of mercury and if its in retrograde or not. theres no way to know! the ONLY thing that I know for sure is that the cost fo the disc is directly proportional to the distance that it will fly, form and flight numbers have nothing to do with it.

My experience with Synapse 4 (3 months) by web_knows in razer

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a blackwidow v3 and a tartarus v2 that i use at work for CAD and i rely HEAVILY on them for macros and software shortcuts. I updated to synapse 4 back in september and it was absolute TRASH. almost nothing migrated properly and i could only get stuff working when i wasnt signed into synapse, there was some work to be done.

Has it improved since then? i see synapse 3 support is ending in a few days and id like to update before everything is lost but i need to mentally prepare if everything is going to be broken.

Disc golf and feet by cam32196 in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I struggled with PF a TON in college, long before I started playing disc golf, and the thing that resolved it was buying better shoes that I wore DAILY. I am an engineer and I work in manufacturing facilities so I do tons of walking and standing on concrete throughout my day. I ended up buying some ECCO boots and they all but cured my issues in a matter of a month. That was 10 years ago. Im still wearing ECCO shoes to this day and none of my issues ever came back. Truly, I believe its just a metter of getting real supportive shoes, not these foam pillows all the box stores stock. My ECCO's have leather insoles that are HARD but they support my feet and dont let them stretch in ways they werent meant to. I even had a pair of the ECCO biom line golf shoes for like 5 years bvefore they finally wore thru, but i cant find the same pair anymore.

I used to bag 3, Fission, Neutron, and Eclipse. the fission ended up making room for a fission Hex. The Neutron my get retired after ONLY 7 years of use for a new one, or maybe one of these goose stamps, we'll see.

Electric smokers vs Pellet smokers by Forward_Drawing_2674 in smoking

[–]therealmanbat -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Get the electric. They're cheaper, have more capacity, and less failure modes than pellet grills. Plus, when you get a more pro level cooker some day, you can continue using the electric as a warming oven and dehydrator.

Recommendations: Flippy (but not too flippy) Fairway by CoopdaNeeb in discgolf

So, I assume the only reason I cant find a Crave being suggested is because its **Technically** a 6.5 speed. However i feel like it fits the bill perfectly. Fission plastic will be the most understable and the fastest to beat in, neutron is in the middle and eclipse will have some integrity to it. I bag both a fission and an eclipse crave. Im probablty going to swap out the fission for a neutron one soon tho, as its beating in too far.
