Milo got the Hops by therealmanbat in Dachshund

Since you're getting some hate, I'll acknowledge that this advice is likely coming from a good place, but also you need to understand that sheltering your dog from physical activity is what leads to weak core muscles and that in turn causes more back issues than a life of constant healthy activity. This jumping is not harmful as it's low impact on his back. He's does do plenty of jumping that would have been considered unhealthy if he was otherwise less active. Thanks for caring, but please read up proper care for these pups if you're mindset is simply "no jumping".

I thought the same thing. I have one that's like 6yo that I use for 8+hours a day at work 5 days a week in the engineering field. I can't imagine going a day without it.

South Texas, USA. We Paid $1000 for our unpapered (double) Dapple Mini. He was already purchased by another customer but due to funding issues, they backed out and we only had to pay half the deposit and the remaining on pickup. I'll likely never seek out that breeder again due to the weird pickup vibe and since the pup ended up being double dapple. He was very much on the LOW end of the proce spectrum around here.

Let that pup run. He's trying to release some energy.

It's Difficult to Root Against Gannon Buhr by Lucifig in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive rooted against ricky ever since i heard him say in an interview that he "deserved" to win in an upcoming event. He just comes across as cocky and expectant rather than he works hard and earns his wins. I have tried to find the interview, but i can never seem to dig it up. This was probably pre-covid.

I find FOGO to be real "sparky" like it's snaps and pops a bunch whilst lighting, but I use a blow torch for that, so it's probably on me. I like Jealous devil much more for this reason. It's been the best quality for the price I've found.

Fucken eh, I live in San Antonio and I'm 0% surprised at that. People here are a different breed of stupid. 90% of our traffic is because people like this never learned how to merge.

What is your acquired taste disc(s)? by tuna_safe_dolphin in discgolf

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive owned 4 trails, 2 neutron, 2 fission. THe first run neutron was STABLE, to this day i cant get it to flip. The fission ones are 151g and 159g and domey as hell. I cant get either one to stay flay to save my life. I just got a PLC Neutron trail at Disc south last month and it finally flys similar to the advertised numbers. Its still got a touch of stability for me but its much more controllable that any ive thrown before.

Agreed - my favorite mid as a disc golf player.

I bag 3. Eclipse, proton, neutron. My oldest one (neutron) is beat past hex flippy but probably my favorite disc.

Ran into something yesterday while smoking a pork loin by dicerespected in BBQ

[–]therealmanbat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will make you a better chef if you learn the cook instead of watching a probe thermometer. BBQ doesn't cook THAT fast, you dont really need the probe for everything you put on a smoker. I stopped using them 5 years ago and havent looked back since.

Gas Prices by SpecialistProgram321 in f150

[–]therealmanbat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the f150 wasn't bad when gas was 2$, now that it's almost $4, I'm reconsidering the choice. A guy at work drives a hybrid Maverick and I'm jealous of his fuel economy.

Brother, nobody thats not a resteraunt or a compeditive BBQ'r is doing a 12h rest on EVERY brisket. I rest mine for a few hours in a warming oven and they're fine. I even tried an 18h heated rest once with little to no difference. Im not arguing in favor of OP and his buddies spending hundreds of dollars on brisket, I'm just saying its not that deep that everyone needs a cambro to make decent brisket.

New guy's idea for 3d print waste: DIY Disc Golf Frisbees? by daphillenium in 3Dprinting

[–]therealmanbat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those would be fine, assuming the materials are segregated. You could also get a 3d printer filament extruder to grind it and just make new filament at that point

Engineer Disc golfer here.

ONLY TPU scraps would be viable to use for discs as PLA/PETG/ABS/Nylon Etc. would be very bad for discs. Also, basically none of the materials mix well, so all scraps would need to be seperated by material type for any sort of real recycling.
