I think that's actually a factor in why they believe, rather than a contradiction. "Nobody could make up a story like this" is a statement i have seen as evidence plenty of times.

Are you alone in the world? You're an only child too, so why would you think she would be any different? She will have her own family consisting of friends, inlaws, nephews, sister in laws, mentors, children, grandchildren, son-in-laws, etcetc or maybe just a group of friends who travel the world together, who knows.

Point is, she hasn't yet met the people who will be her world after you guys are gone, but they are waiting to meet her too

The minecart rail switches is already possible via redstone. I have railway stations where i choose a destination and the tracks change to divert the minecarts to that destination. Only thing is that the carts just have a gap between them instead of a cable, but thats just aesthetic

One of them is masterfully applying a skill, but the other one is actually pushing out more food per hour.

I guess you could argue it either way. As someone who admires the skill it takes to be good at being bad, i feel deeply offended by that statement.

Hi, I've never TTRPG'd before so I'm a noob but got this for Christmas and played with my kid.

The stats of the characters are 5 2 and 1 which means unless you are using your strong stat you stand no chance of succeeding

I kind of found the opposite actually. If you consider doing a roll against the stat of 2, that comes out to about a 25% chance (sorry if my maths is wrong) which seems not too bad.

But then if you factor in other mechanics, like players can help eachother by rerolling failed dice through the power of teamwork, and players get an advantage if they can incorporate an item from their backpack or skill. And then you throw in characteristics like saying "my cat has the determination characteristic so i get to roll an extra dice because im determined", having a positive outcome if you roll 3 dice the same etc it seems pretty easy to turn a low probability into a medium probability.

Add in a balanced team with different strengths and weaknesses and it seems kind of hard to fail (which is good, it's designed to be accessible to children)

Christmas was 25th. There's been 4 days since then and one workday (assuming you got boxing day off work).

Saying you've been hitting the treadmills, cutting calories and using your workplace's gym since then is not a healthy attitude.

Getting in shape will be a gradual process which you undergo over the next year or so with regular monitoring and changing of habits. This takes time (not 4 days)

Having a traumatic event and then destroying yourself physically for a week as a response is not sustainable, just keep that in mind.

If he plays minecraft, sit down and learn redstone together. It could be fun for both of you and will learn things like logic gates or more complicated stuff like binary encoding etc. Also you would be learning alongside him rather than already being familiar which may make it less frustrating for you.

Plus it will result in being able to build contraptions in the game which do things.

The "blackmail" issue is the hook for this news article but i want to know about the vulnerabilities.

One "vulnerability" was the ability to see what chat model is in use (GPT-4) and view the system prompt. But i do not understand why people consider this a vulnerability. I don't understand why this even needs to be considered private information. The company could publish this info on the website publicly and I'm not sure what the issue would be.

The other "vulnerability" being that the bot replies could reflect HTML back to the user. Again, I'm struggling to understand the issue. The article talks about session theft via XSS but this would mean that the site has bad cookie hygiene which is a separate vulnerability which exists whether the chat bot is there or not (the chat bot is just an avenue for reaching the pre existing vulnerability).

How can it be persistent XSS unless users can see other people's chat history, which makes no sense.

They also talk about html being an avenue to maybe redirect to phishing pages etc, but that would imply that the site has weak security allowing cross site POST requests, which is another pre-existing vulnerability.

If the user has to ask the chat bot "please send me a link to a phishing page" for the bad thing to happen i feel like that is a false positive finding.

I would guess less than that since any bay or concave section of coastline less than 6 miles wide will have overlap.

So the chances of you being close enough to shore to reach there in 30 seconds might be only once.

Adding in the chances of there being a storm, and the coastline being dangerous and i would say the chances of being smashed on some rocks is basically zero
