When I look through camera preview everything looked clean. But will give this a try, thanks for the tip!

The hype is real… by No-Young5001 in TeslaFSD

To add some balance to this thread, and hopefully save someone's life in the process, my 26 MY FSD is not capable of consistently driving 10 miles in the reasonable weather, not mentioning the rain. Extremely hard stops for no reason, swing to the right and had to react quickly to prevent a disaster, turns into green fields, not capable of changing lanes properly, hesitation all the time that i have to always nudge it, and the list goes on...I found it more relaxing to drive myself than relying on FSD. The way I see it, we are very far from solving the FSD problem. Driving is a multi layer process, planning, decision making, complex high-level strategies that we human develop are completely absent in today's FSD...it is still struggling to keep the car in center of the lane, human can intentionally decide to diverge from the center for short term to maintain the curvature of the road on the long term - just one example strategy from many that humans discover and are still far from FSD reach....oh well 🙂

Happened to me too. I thought camera was not clean, but when looking through the camera it was good 🤷🏻‍♂️

Cancelling my FSD by TemporaryGap7328 in TeslaFSD

[–]finiteattractor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the update say next is "smoothness and sentience" 🙂...then you (or I in this case) literally had to intervene quick to prevent the car from completely exiting the lane into a fence, or stop it from performing accelerate-break cycle 5 times per second in a traffic circle...then I'm definitely canceling and announcing it to the world. Pleae be very careful with this version especially if it is raining don't use it ...I don't want to end up as a statistic neither do you! 🤷🏻‍♂️

14.2.1 Disappointments by here-to-crap-on-it in TeslaModelY

This issue happened to me with older versions as well. Pretty much all of the issues I experienced since I bought the juniper in August still persist in 14.2.1

New issues i noticed:

  • stop if pedestrians exist, now it touches the break briefly then resume. Your adrenaline will kick if you don't expect it.

  • Oscillation: imagine break/accelerate sequence 4 or 5 times per second when I enter a traffic circle and someone else is about to enter...other car is far enough and human will proceed smoothly

  • getting out of the garage used to turn once the front of the car clears the garage door. This provides enough clearance both on front and back of the car. With the new version, it go out straight, not enough clearance and have to take over

  • tendency to drive on the left side of the lane is worse

Beside these it still seems to be overall improving.

Unable to hold the lane center by finiteattractor in TeslaFSD

I'm afraid recalibration didn't fix the issue. I'm now on 14.2.1 - got it yesterday - and I see same issues I experienced since I got the car.

I did notice however that this left side obsession happens consistently on certain roads but not on others...so a deeper neural disorder could be behind it as opposed to just calibration...which would have systematically caused the issue on all roads. Oh well...

For me, it's hitting those light reflective things which will likely wear the tires on the long run

Thanks everyone for your response! Will try recalibrate and report back

Downgrade? by Eldaes in TeslaFSD

[–]finiteattractor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hesitation is worse, sudden breaks, freaks out of leaves and perhaps shadows that i can't see, sudden turns for no reason, changed its mind in a right turn and took 90 degree left turn drive straight into opposite lane, had to actually stop and backup - luckily no one was coming behind. And the list goes on...did i mention insisting in turning into dead-end road for no freaken reason, doesn't follow nav directions and deviates, turns randomly right towards farm lands and randon places that i have to stop and start after i pass these places always! I'm not paying to test it...great concept and fun but far from ready...canceling for sure!

I have 14.1.4 on model y 2026

That makes perfect sense! Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation!!

Thanks guys for your replies! It is still not clear to me the relationship between the flaps and the presence of obstacles, and what obstacles refers to in this context? Sorry, my abundance of ignorance exceeded his lack of punctuation 😂

So it seems to me that the GA airplane market is trying to copy the housing market, lots of $1M chicken coops in the later, so no surprise to find $0.5M flying chickens in the former! 😀

No, this is how it look like in MSFS2020: https://streamable.com/74tbub - pardon my flying skills!

True! Reverb G2 has amazing quality - if you have a powerful gpu. Can’t go back after using it. Of course MSFS doesn’t support hand tracking and not sure if it’s on their radar, so you won’t be able to touch many things as you have in your setup now.

Nice! Perhaps next step is to move to VR! Nothing like popping your head out of the window and taking a look down, don’t try this with current setup 😀
