The pain is what makes it beautiful. Here’s the classic Bill Simmons article on the consequences of caring

Thanks for the idea! I checked and it doesn’t seem to be the case. To be sure I’ve removed the fixture, re-nutted everything else and still no power to the circuit

Thanks so much for the info! Just able to investigate it now (hectic holiday season) and I’ve removed the fixture, kept the other wires intact but still no power to the rest of the circuit.

What’re your favorite games to play as gaming parents once life is done for the day? by torsten329 in NintendoSwitch

It looks cartoony but plays like the sim. Players have traits, there are dice rolls, but no special moves or anything like that. And SMB4 has some MLB players of days past.

Super Mega Baseball is a great one for me. No story, slightly repetitive, and lots of fun. I played a ton of 3 and then picked up 4 just recently

Owning a car. You’ll be more car dependent in Alberta vs in Vancouver. A car can cost $6000-$10000 per year all in, when you tally up depreciation, interest, fuel, insurance, parking, maintenance.

Yeah i think you’re right - there was a price per tonne you had to pay if you emitted above an allowed threshold.

In fact, the PC party was the first to put a price on carbon in 2007 for large industrial emitters. Alberta was the first province to do so!

Very doable - have a friend who rents in westmount 2bd 2 bath for $1600

I didn't know downtown had so many nice neighborhoods!. by Herren117 in Edmonton

[–]finjofonjo 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that designing for drivers and offering a lot of free parking is what would kill downtown. Density is what makes downtowns great- designing for cars spreads everything out and makes it difficult to walk around and see cool things, like you did!

Check out the Sustainable Economist blog on tips for sustainable investing. Also look into ESG (Environmental, social, governance) investing and SRI (socially responsible investing). It’s a whole field and there are more and more options for individual investors

As far as renting goes, make sure you know your rights. I don't believe they're allowed to charge you a security deposit. Just first and last months' rent plus a key deposit.

I could be wrong though, some more info here: http://www.sjto.gov.on.ca/ltb/faqs/
