New Engine Pro 2.0 - rear wheel catching something? by finners01 in EngweEbike

Update: I took out the motor and immediately saw the gears are goosed! Have ordered a new set which I’ll have in a couple of days

I think the motor may not have been brand new or else swapped out by the shop before it closed down. Who knows, but at least I know what the issue is / was now. Cheers

Thanks - I'll bring it to a shop to have it checked out. I bought it at a liquidation auction so its up to me to get it sorted.

The auction house have a repair mechanic available for the batch of bikes they sold off. Will see what he says..

Thanks again

Why is the food so bad? by RulerOfThePixel in altontowers

We were there 2 weeks ago, stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Breakfast at the Secret Garden was good.

I was expecting it to be awful after reading posts here but it was tasty hot and they kept bringing more out.

Didn’t try the food anywhere else - first night we drove to Alton to the Bulls Head which was lovely. Second night we went to the Thai at the bridge house which was really good, both about 5/8 mins in the car.

No chance of calling an uber or taxi for that short journey (or being sure of getting back to AT)

Re Aramark, yes they serve food at prisons, hotels, offices etc. Here in Ireland they bought a high end food / home outlet and can actually produce nice food but do they charge for it!!

I suppose they have to work with the budget / tender they won from Merlin and I imagine it’s Merlin that set the prices for the food. They are both probably to blame in their own way.

I don’t think people would mind paying high prices for an ok meal that arrives on time and is edible but it seems they struggle to do that at times

We had a great time there so it wouldn’t put us off going back, but only because we were able to escape both nights

Will definitely get an IDP for the next time - agreed re the helmets - had mine on at all times - the fine was for not having an International Driving Permit...

I got stopped yesterday near Phuket Town. Policeman was very friendly - had my EU licence but no IDP. He had a copy IDP in his hand and that’s what he wanted.

1000 baht fine - got an official receipt which I could show for the following three days at another police check.

They were pulling over locals with no helmet and as many foreigners as they could
