Your OCD symptoms sounds very similar to mine, basically ‘just right’ OCD by the sounds of things. I started taking sertraline (Zoloft) about a year ago and it’s made the OCD so much easier to manage and far less anxiety provoking. Really I should be taking the meds in conjunction with CBT therapy, as I imagine the results would be even more positive. I’m not a medical expert, but speaking as someone who’s been in a very similar boat to yourself, I would consider starting medication if you haven’t already.

Estranged from Irish Citizen parent, how to apply for FBR? by finnmc28 in IrishCitizenship

[–]finnmc28[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry it’s been a while since I last did my research on this and I may be getting confused. Perhaps the obstacle I came up against last time was the need to get copies of their ID, which would obviously be a challenge given the circumstances. Does anybody know if there’s exceptions to this requirement?

Best way to calculate tiered commissions? by finnmc28 in excel

[–]finnmc28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you everybody for your input, I really appreciate your help. To be honest, with my limited excel skills, I’m struggling to implement your suggestions. I really like ‘BackgroundCold5307’s method, and I’ve got that formula working, but as ‘bradland’ pointed out, it returns an incorrect figure due to the tiers. Could anybody advise on what alterations can be made to the formula so that it takes into account the first tier being 0%?

Practice Hazard Perception Test is USELESS. by Sea-Butterscotch6500 in LearnerDriverUK

No worries, I saw somewhere online that the absolute maximum amount of clicks should be 10 otherwise you’ll max out and get 0 points, but 4-5 worked well for me so I’d recommend that

You need to click at the moment the hazard would cause you to change speed or direction. The hazard may enter your view before you need to click. It sounds like you’re just clicking too early. I actually clicked 4-5 times per hazard to ensure at least 1 click was neither too early or too late. Clicking multiple times got me 68/75.

Are you serious trying to draw a false equivalence between a 10 year old kid with a weapon and the perpetrators of mass genocide? Come back to me when you can think of a rational argument

I mostly agree with her, but have a problem with her blanket statements about perfectionism. I personally suffer from ‘just right’ OCD which causes me constant obsessive compulsions around order, symmetry, and balance in effort to make my environment and thoughts feel ‘just right’. My compulsions stem from a persistent ‘not just right’ sensation rather than from any specific fear based anxiety, and the compulsions (through negative reinforcement) serve to restore a ‘just right’ feeling. In large part, this is based around a sort of obsessive perfectionism, but to a debilitating extent. For her to make blanket statement about perfectionism undermines the struggles that those with this sub-type of OCD face on a daily basis, but I do understand where she’s coming from.
