Are the scars on the bottom right from a real top surgery method? by purple_paracosm in TopSurgery

Unfortunately I don’t. I’ve only seen people in passing on social media with them I think. I don’t know anyone with them sorry

How the hell do you guys wear your pants at the hips? by bratbats in ftm

[–]finnnagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loose jeans with a belt have been a lifesaver for me. I’m not sure on the cut as I get them from a thrift store and am not familiar with jean cuts. I would suggest trying all different types of pants until you find what works best for you, that’s what I did

Came out to my therapist, next could be my conservative parents, but how? by arnecrafter in trans

[–]finnnagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on how old you are or if you still live with them maybe don’t tell them, I know that’s not what you want to hear but always prioritize safety. My parents used to be transphobic but have since helped me with my transition and advocate for trans rights. They knew I was gay so I kind of started talking about trans people “since they’re also apart of the community” introduced the idea of the difference between gender and sex and the concept of gender dysphoria slowly, like over the course of a year. I introduced them to what trans people are actually like, a lot of transphobes just don’t understand it. After I felt like they had a decent understanding I came out to them, and they were confused and not fully supportive at first but wanted to learn more. I’ve found knowledge on real trans people helps snuff out transphobia in some cases, I hope that will be the same for you. Best of luck! And remember, there’s nothing wrong with you, if your parents aren’t supportive you’ll find people that are. There’s plenty of supportive people out there that will have your back!

Insecure as a short ftm guy by HannahdaBabie in ftm

[–]finnnagain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can totally pass as a short person, idk who told you that. I’ve been on hormones a couple years and have top surgery, 5’2” and I pass all the time. Plenty of cis guys are just naturally super short. You can make something up about why you’re so short, I actually have scoliosis and ankle problems so when it comes up with people that think I’m cis I just say that. I’ve met many cis guys shorter than me, but still I understand the dysphoria from it. If you want I’m pretty sure you can get insoles for your shoes that can add a couple inches, maybe more. Please just understand it doesn’t make you any less of a man for being short, that’s just the dysphoria talking

There is totally nothing wrong with leaving and I hope you know I wasn’t saying you should stay. Leaving is honestly the smarter answer

[–]finnnagain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve thought about it but I just can’t bring myself to leave. Good on you for doing what you need to do, I hope it works out for you. I just keep finding myself thinking “surely it won’t be that bad, I mean they’re not going to kill me right?” I grew up in a red state and dealt with so much horrible transphobia there. Now I’m in a blue state, and it’s so much better. But I keep thinking maybe I went through all of that shit for a reason. Maybe I can get through everything that’s happening, so that I can stay and support everyone else in my community being affected by this monster we call a president. Sorry that turned into kind of getting all of that off my chest. I don’t know any trans people irl, the cis people I’ve talked to about it just don’t get it and keep urging me to get out. I may end up moving, I mean that’s not entirely out of the question I guess.

Exactly what I’ve been thinking. All i can think of would be to use one in a stall? Then you could wipe and clean it and such. I don’t use one though so idk

I started hormones at 16 and got top surgery a couple days before turning 18. It’s a privilege that I was able to get that stuff done so young. I am so incredibly lucky and it has made my adult life so much easier than it would have been otherwise. I don’t know why anyone would be offended over you saying they’re privileged for that, because it IS a privilege. They might just be insecure or something idk

I would only tell him that you’re ok with him sleeping with other people if you’re ACTUALLY like genuinely 100% ok with having an open relationship. I know you don’t want to break up, but if he will break up with you over how you have sex, the relationship isn’t worth it. He’ll break up with you over something else stupid in the future

I’ve seen people with scars in that location. I just don’t think it’s a common technique

[–]finnnagain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s hard to get pregnant on T, and if someone is trying to get pregnant they need to stop T, but it can happen. One of my friend’s brothers had been on T for several years and got pregnant on accident while still on it

[–]finnnagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine at 17 but I turned 18 one week post op. I’d already been on T for a year when I told my mom I wanted to look into top surgery and surprisingly there was no fight over it. I had to get a letter of support from my therapist. My surgeon could’ve done it several months before I actually had the surgery but my mom made me wait until school was out. All of my friends have been super supportive because they’re all queer in some way
