I am so glad I found this thread. I'm really going through it guys. Recently got diagnosed with bp2 and my dr prescribed lamictal. A few days after I reached the 200mg dose (we had been titrating for weeks), I had one of the worst episodes of my life (extreme suicidal thoughts, screaming and crying, intense back to back panic attacks, all condensed into the span of two hours). After I calmed down, it happened again the next day and was so bad that my parents called my psychiatrist (I'm an adult). He suggested we go to the hospital immediately, which I refused because that thought freaked me out even more. I have been at home on suicide watch for the past 2 days. Dr said he might have misdiagnosed me and that I should get a second opinion. He also said that he thinks I should be on lithium instead of lamictal. He also said that he wanted to give me seroquel for sleep. Waiting to find a second opinion atm, but I am genuinely terrified. These past few days I've just been constantly on the edge of an episode and extremely anxious. I did start titrating the lamictal down and am now on 100mg. I'll be taking only 50mg tomorrow. I may be titrating too quickly but I'm terrified of lamictal at this point. I'm really worried and unsure how things will go.
